Hi all, need some help.

Applied this cycle on my own, no consultant, and the results weren't great. Didn't convert much tbh. So planning to go with a consultant for the next round and trying to figure out who's actually worth the money.

I have 5 years of experience as software developer and looking for an MBA in US. (will share more about me if needed)

Any resources or instructions to make the post-mba goal more clear. I am from development finance. I have less idea about private equity, investment banking, impact investment sector in US. What's the best way to link my background with my post mba goal?

If your current work is somewhat related to what you want to do after MBA, just highlight those parts. If not, try to show it as a natural next step in your career, like how your experience with development projects can help in evaluating deals or understanding emerging markets.

For making your post-MBA goal clearer, try to be more specific. Instead of just saying “finance”, mention the exact type of role or sector you’re targeting, like impact funds or PE with focus on sustainable stuff.

That’s the best way to connect your background with your goal.
