Hello ab2029,

To be very frank, you would have had a very good chance if you had applied in the earlier rounds; Oxford values anyone who has created social impact or showcases potential for it.

In later rounds, it will not be so straightforward; however, if you have decided to give it a shot, ensure that you put forth compelling essays along with career goals that sync well with your existing profile.

All the best!

Curious if there's any 1+1 candidates (i.e. joining MBA in 2026) who have further information on funding timelines

With the given information and 675 GMAT FE score your profile looks decent but as the upcoming deadline in March would be the last round, the chances can be tough because of the competiton. Also, the opportunity to grab the University of Oxford scholarships, would not be available now, as it is for the applicants who apply by the January (Stage 4) deadline.

If you feel your profile is in the best shape now and your application(essays, LORS, resume) is almost ready, and aligns well with your target school values, you can give it a shot otherwise consider applying in R1. Good luck!

If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a 1:1 call with you to discuss your profile in detail to gauge your chances for the best fit schools. Please feel free to schedule a profile evaluation call according to your convenience.

Just had my interview. Interviewer was a senior from the field of finance (my career goal) and had questions mostly around how I’d go about my short term goals. No standard Interview questions (why Oxford, why MBA etc)

Thanks for sharing this idliboba ! Sounds like your interviewer focused more on your career goals. (Just a good thought that came, might be a good sign too), as they were assessing how well your short-term plans align with your industry. How was the overall experience?

Wish you luck!

My ST goals were a bit unconventional and relied on my network. So he was probing to assess how sure I was of it happening. And I told him quite frankly that “it’s not done till it’s done”.

Overall experience was really nice. We bonded over music, and it really was more of a conversation than an interview. He wasn’t taking any notes unlike the US schools

Hi idliboba I have seen that Oxford interviews hover around 1-2 focus points of discussion, and these points connect with an area that the school would like to probe further. If your interviewer focused on your goals strategy, then you know the school has taken the time to understand the possible challenges in your MBA journey, and they wanted the interviewer to have a discussion on this. I have observed Oxford interviews to be very pointed, and what you share looks like another data point.

Best wishes

Not official information, but it seems 50% of the applicants are invited to interview and the acceptance rate is 20%. If numbers are correct, around 50%-60% are rejected after interview. Again, this is just speculation, and varies each year.

Specific stats regarding this are not available publicly, it's important to understand that the admissions process is holistic and highly competitive. The interview serves as a critical component. Therefore, while advancing to the interview stage is a positive indication of your candidacy, it does not guarantee admission. Applicants are encouraged to prepare thoroughly and present a compelling case during the interview to enhance their prospects. Though a decent number of applicants recieve interview invites and some get rejections without interviews. The outcome is influenced by numerous factors and fluctuates!

Your score aligns with the median GMAT score of 680 for Oxford.

While there is no minimum GMAT requirement, but aiming for at least 20 points above the median score can strengthen your profile and enhance your competitiveness. Its not just about the scores but it also depends on the overall strength of your profile.

We have helped one of our Applicants with a 615 GMAT FE score who got an Oxford admission offer.

If you'd like, we would love to learn more about your profile. Please feel free to BOOK A PROFILE EVALUATION CALL.
