Now this person didn't even say what happened on the call.

That person might have been admitted.I don't see any other reason why they would call at this stage.

It was a false alarm..

Heyy all,

I had submitted my application for Ross on the very last day and as expected made some mistakes. When talking about my short term goals I said that I wanted to be a project manager when in fact it should have been product manager. After mentioning my role I also mentioned the activities that I would want to do in such a role like planning and developing a product. In the rest of the para I have detailed the FMCG companies I want to work for and in what capacity. The only point where I messed up was where instead of saying Product Manager I said Project Manager. I feel horrible :( . I don't know how big a blunder it is.

Another place where I made a mistake was when entering the date I took TOEFL. Could you please tell me what the repercussions of these mistakes would be?

The Mother of all blunders was then made by my recommender. He copied and pasted the last para from some site and forgot to change the Name of the person in the recommendation in the last line :(. I got to know this only because I didn't waive my right to see the recommendation, and asked my recommender to raise a request. He has contacted the admissions office, but there is no reply until now. Would any of you know how bad this is?? This being my first application and for a school on the top of my list, it only rubs salt onto my wounds.

I'd be grateful if any of you could help me out with my questions.

prasaadks - seems u had a bumpy ride and hope things work out well.

On LORs: I don't remember encountering the option to waive/not waive rights to access reco. I never wanted to access them anyways. But now curious if it was just me who didnt see the option???
Also, my understanding was that if one doesn't waive right to view reco, she/he can access it only after enrollment.

All the best to all...

Well...There are always mistakes in a last-minute app... But here are my thoughts:

- The product manager vs Project manager is just a typo...If you really think it makes a difference then send an updated version to the adcom.
- The TOEFL date is not a big deal, just give a call to let them know...
- The last but not the least: the recommendation! I think you have to make sure your recommender contact them to clarify the name typo. Don't get involved in this issue directly, you don't want them to think you prepared a template for you recommender (that you took on the net btw...)

My 2 cents....

Not sure whether you can send an updated version of your essay. If you get an interview invite, mention it during the interview subtly. For the recommendation, ask your recommender to send an updated version.

I received an interview today. Does anyone know if Ross views an on-campus interview favorably? I could make it out there if it's worth it.

Is that interview invite from R2? I am surprised it only takes them a week to send out the invite.

Yea, if he/she's R2, that's pretty darn fast! Now I'm getting nervous.

drmang7, when did you submit your app?

drmang7 is a consortium applicant which is a little different. They run on a different schedule.

drmann7, Usually if you haven't visited the school before, it is favorable for you to interview on campus. This was my logic for interviewing on campus last year. The other advantage is that you get to see the school before you start making your choice as to which program you will actually attend.

Thanks! That lowered my blood pressure a little bit. Looks like someone from Toronto posted on BW forums that he/she also got an interview today. Not sure if that person's a Consortium applicant, though. What's this Consortium business, anyway?
