I am waitlisted after interview. Is it a glorified ding? That is sad. I am still hopeful that I can convery.
Round 1 waitlisters who converted, few questions for you

Does adcom create any google group/yahoo group for waitlisters? I have not received any such email though.
What do you guys think about letter from ross alum/student?
In Ross's waitlisters faq web page, they are telling that apart from improved scores, we dont consider any material other than this update provided via link. Does it mean that letter from ross community is detrimental?

Sorry to heat that. I was also interviewed in R1 and then waitlisted. I thought it was over since I was waitlisted at another school last year and was dinged.
I received an invitation to join the Ross Waitlist class of 2013 group about a week after the decision. You should receive the invite by next week.
You have only one opportunity to submit an update aside from a GMAT improvement. I personally included in the update some new accomplishments in my job and reiterated my interest in the school.

May have already been addressed before, but - if we weren't notified of a scholarship on our acceptance call earlier this week, does that mean no scholarship for sure? Or is Ross similar to, say, Duke where most people find out about scholarships from a letter/note in their admitted students binder?

Wow, you were waitlisted on Jan 14th and haven't received an invitation?You may have deleted the email by error...Otherwise I suggest you contact the admissions
I haven't done anything special besides mentioning new accomplishments at work

For my current company the title on my resume differs slightly from what HR may have. Does this matter at all? The situation is to meet dept pay scale requirements I am one thing, but my job is another which is best described by the title on my resume. Does it matter? I am about to withdraw my apps and notify the schools I was accepted to so I can formally commit to Ross, but I don't want any snags.

Also I am currently taking courses (Calculus & accounting) that do not conclude until June, but I think we need to send our transcripts in sooner than that. Any idea how this should be handled. They are not required courses, just some things I was taking for my own knowledge and to raise my GPA if necessary, but it seems I was admitted. Thanks.

Guys, I believe Ross does a background check for the admitted students. Any Idea when and what kind of verification will be done?

The standard background check at most Bschools: Criminal (a speeding ticket is fine, insider trading big no), undergraduate college, checks with employers (HR) and recommenders. Must align with your CV (dates, firms, positions). Quite generic nowadays given that most HR would only confirm basics for legal reasons. Sth like: "Mr X has been employed as banker, consultant, engineer with our firm since Aug. 2007." Not sure about credit check or bankruptcies.

Seems like no one's responded to you yet. Last year there were scholarships with your admitted students binder. I don't think anyone got like a huge scholarship as most of the big "named" scholarships were given on the phone. That being said I know someone who got a "named" scholarship after the whole admissions process was over (but that might just be because someone dropped out or went to another school, my theory)

Also consider the intangibles, type of job, what you want in life. Because I was fairly highly paid, fairly fast salary growth and did not receive any scholarship, my break even point was somewhere around 15 years. But I would say totally worth it just the experience alone.

more than the money, my main reason for the mba is a change in location and a change in careers....i know that without such a course, i wont be able to do any of those...maybe location would be easy in the long run, but changing careers to something you dont really have any experience in, tht would be tough without an mba....

Finally made it. got admitted. :) But to the part-time weekend program. Noticed that there was no thread for this. hopefully am not raining on anyone's parade.
