yup i finished my interview on monday and have to wait 2.5 months to hear back...!
The reason for this is that Ross is doing its interviews a little differently this time. There are two waves of interview periods - and the second ends in the second week of December. We did this because we found that applicants that received their interview invitations later in the round did not have as many "slots" to choose from as those that received an earlier invitation. With the second wave, these candidates now should have roughly the same set of interview slots available to them.
Once the ad-com is done with the second wave, they need to:
(a) reconcile the interviews with the rest of the applications
(b) reconcile wave-2 applicants with wave-1
(c) evaluate entire pool as one
Some other schools prefer to use a rolling decision date, whereas Ross has
a decision date. So even if a decision is made, it is not communicated - the hope is that this keeps the entire applicant community from getting worked up. So, the process is structured like this with an aim to minimize applicant anxiety. If you guys have some thoughts on how this could be done better, PM me, and I'll pass the ideas on to the Ad-com.
