I guess thats a ding for me as well! Ironically I got an e-mail from Ross today giving me some "application tips" :p
i guess everybody who has applied got that email... and I was so happy to see an email from Ross until I realized it was "application tips"... neways i exchanged a few emails with AdCom and they are saying that the application is under review... and reject/waitlist decisions will not be given anytime soon... so no new info other than what KingKREEP already posted... good luck everyone for your other apps...

Brutal, just brutal. Assuming that gmatclubbers are represenatative of the overall candidate pool, which is probably a conservatie assumption, that means that to this point just about 37% of applicants got interviews, if the first page contains up-to-date info, compared to the trend of roughly 60% of all applicants getting an invite historically. I think anyone who got an interview should feel really lucky and those without probably were just applying in a really tough year. I'm curious to see what sort of statistics come out of Ross for the upcoming class. Now for those of us fortunate enough to interview two months till we know...

I'm sure there were a few more invitees who just haven't posted to the thread. Since there are no rejection emails, we have no way of knowing.
I'd say the breakdown is probably 37% invited & posted to the forum, 18% invited & didn't post to forum, 45% no invitation

I kept a very accurate headcount on the front page. I'd be surprised to see if I'm even off by one.

Having said that, there's an increase of applicants from 41 (on GC in 2009) to 70ish (on GC in 2010). It could be that I'm a bit too meticulous in tracking who's applying, or it could be that the # of applicants jumped all of a sudden from 2009 to 2010. I have a strong inclination that it just wasn't tracked properly in the previous years (this is just an opinion; I did not go back to last year's thread and count up the # of applicants vs. what's reflected on the 2009 Ross front page).

Just curious, did anyone who received a request to resubmit missing application materials (such as an undergraduate degree document) receive an interview invitation?

I was asked to submit an additional item (degree copy) which i did on 11/8. I was then told that the AA will include those materials in my file and submit for review. I wonder if any of those applications for which additional materials were requested are still being reviewed !! duh.

Commiseration on the Ross silence. Does it mean a certain ding when you haven't heard from Ross-not even waitlist? I can feel the pain as I have received my fair share of setbacks and even verbal abuse from some pundits at another thread. After the turmoil, I don't know what to expect as other applicants have stronger profile. Ross is the first interview invite for me. Hope things work out for you at another school.

WilliamWykeham:
I am not an expert, but this thread's 37% would not be representative to the overall universe of applicants. We assume the sample reflects perfectly, but there might be some tracking error. Assuming some candidates don't follow Gmatclub (work, family, limited PC access at work). Some lucky few may have multiple offers from prefered schools and don't bother to report here. Also it looks that some nationalities are more active. Given Ross's profile, lots of US citizens and Indians. I sense that mostly male posters here, the Ross's 30+% women aren't represented here on this thread.

bakfed, I'm sure you were meticulous. What I'm saying is that there could be people who two months ago said they applied R1 to Ross, who recently got an invitation to interview, but are not posting to the thread about the invitation.
Therefore our 37% figure is a deflated figure.

@bakfed - thank you much for your heroic efforts here

@jtinva - one other phenomenon that I am imagining is that lots of people who had not posted prior to being notified to interview came out of the woodshed to post here, which would actually make the percentage of applicants interviewed overall much lower than 37%, again if we assume that GMATclubbers are representative. On the other hand, militating against that argument, there are probably a handful of people who asked to be on the rollcall and who were interviewed, and never updated their status online. My feeling is that that number is actually quite small, since those who get the invite tend to want to share with everyone, even anonymous strangers online. There are so many variables at play when trying to generalize from the small sample of people who volunteer to post on this forum that any conclusions we come to here should be taken with a gigantic grain of salt. Preferably sea salt. Which is delicious.

spoke to the adcom... all apps are still under review... the 2 waves of invites that came were probably the outstanding profiles and they will continue to filter the applicants... there will be no more batches but a few may be invited individually... especially when the applicants were asked for additional material so close the wave2 deadline... again the decisions will be conveyed only on jan 15th and not before that... with all the anxiety build up in this waiting, i guess i am still being too optimistic...

What about new people added to the rollcall after NOT hearing back from Adcom and getting frustrated? 8-)

Yep -- you're too optimistic. And I quote "1 or 2 might get invitations", said the woman I talked to about people who haven't received an invitation yet

@jtinva - heh. Yep should have thought of that too. Guess someone would have to recount the number of people accepted disregarding those whose first post came after notifications were sent. But then I would start to think that early posters may have a bias to being overly optimistic, which is just my wild speculation.

I'll be honest - I am a little surprised at the lower than average interview rate here. Historically Ross has interviewed approximately 50% of its applicants. And since the applicants here tend to be of higher quality 8-), the rate here should be closer to 60 - 65%. There are some possible explanations (complete conjecture, of course):
1. Applications are up significantly across the board. I haven't checked, but have some of the other school seen any decline in interview %?
2. GMAT Club is more popular than ever. Personally I believe this is the reason. When I was applying, most Indians applicants from India had never heard of GMATClub. It took some digging to find this site. I'm not too sure, but I think there were 4 - 5 of us then on the Ross thread. However, that seems to be changing now, and we are seeing a lot of international applicants on these boards. And the fact that Ross tends to attracts Indian applicants doesn't help too - it just exacerbates the issue and further deflates the interview %.

Again, these are just brain farts from me and I'm purely hypothesizing reasons for the seemingly lower than average % of interview invites. If I find some real data-driven information, I'll make sure to pass it on.
