does anyone know what percentage of applicants interview and of those interviews, what % gets admitted?

neosumit
pyarapopat
For R1 last year there were 108 applicants in the 2011 applicant thread and 67 received an invite - that is roughly 62% of the applicants. Presuming we maintain a same ratio we should have 47 interview invites this year for 76 applicants.

That is another 31 invites for today.

Just some fun stats to pass time ... best of luck everyone!

Latest stats on BW:

Applications (admitted and denied) to the newest class: 2,929
Applicants who were accepted to the most recent class: 32 %
Admitted applicants who enrolled in the newest class: 53 %
Applicants who were re-applicants from prior years: 5 %
Percentage of this year's reapplicants accepted: 33 %
Applicants wait-listed during the last admissions cycle: 472
Wait-listed applicants admitted for the semester to which they applied: 131
Applicant interviews are: By invitation only
Applicants (admitted and denied) who were interviewed: 50 %
Admitted applicants who were interviewed: 100 %

Looking at the stats of past year and assuming not many changes this year, applicants have a 50-50 chance of getting an invite, while those who are invited for interview have roughly 2/3 chance of getting admitted.

I don't believe that GMAT is not an important criterion while deciding to send the interview invites i.e. first v/s second waves. I expect that the average GMAT scores of invited candidates to drop once the wave 2 invites are sent out by Ross.

Can a current student, or anyone who has already interviewed pass along some information about airport to AA (and then back) transportation? What is the best (cheapest) and most reliable way?

Thanks!

I didn't interview on campus, but I visited Ann Arbor prior to submitting my application. I rented a car at a rate of $22.95 per day. That's cheaper than taking a cab/shuttle to and from Ross.

What airport and rental agency did you use? I'm only finding ~$70/day cars.

I found on Expedia cars from $18/day. However, renting the car at ORD, not DTW. I think I will drive from Chicago.

That's a long drive. You might as well just fly to DTW and take a cab to and from Ann Arbor.

Yes, that's another option. However, I want to make the class visit and the earliest flight from ORD to DTW arrives at 9:30 a.m and the class visit starts at 10:15 a.m, that is why I was thinking about driving.

As I was just discussing with junglebellows, not having received an invite to interview does not necessarily mean a ding. It could still mean a waitlist - I'm guessing the adcom will notify a waitlist decision only on the decision date (Jan 13), which means you could be invited to interview in subsequent rounds depending on one of two things happening (a) someone not accepting an offer thereby emptying a slot, and (b) Ross not finding anyone more suitable in the subsequent rounds.

The adcom was going to send out invitations to interview for R1 in two waves only, today's batch being the second wave. Not 100% sure if they're done sending out all of them but considering it's already a few hours after COB, they most probably are.

That's what I'm not sure of either. We will definitely get an email response with the final decision around Jan 13, but I'm wondering if there'll be any communication before that. Hopefully someone here can clarify. Or maybe someone can call them up in a couple of days.

For those who interviewed in wave 1 -- is it 100% 2nd year interview or did any one of you had a adcom interview?

i've never visited, but i'm going for super interview saturday and i'll be taking the michigan flyer. if you book online there's a discounted rate of $15 each way.

I guess Ross is done for Round 1, but there is always that "hope", right?

Last year in Round 2, some invites came around February 4 (02/04 and 02/07). And, for those of us that haven't received any invite I hope "around November 14" means November 14 and November 15/16. Wait till January 13 for a ding/waitlist is going to be painful.

Congrats to those that received invites today.
