I found on Expedia cars from $18/day. However, renting the car at ORD, not DTW. I think I will drive from Chicago.

That's a long drive. You might as well just fly to DTW and take a cab to and from Ann Arbor.

Yes, that's another option. However, I want to make the class visit and the earliest flight from ORD to DTW arrives at 9:30 a.m and the class visit starts at 10:15 a.m, that is why I was thinking about driving.
