Invited for interview!
In the Ross interview Scheduling System, in the 'Resume' section (the 2nd tab in the header), I uploaded an incorrect file by mistake. I want to replace this file with a different attachment, but I am unable to find an option to delete the file that has already been uploaded. Did anyone run into similar issues? Am I missing something very obvious?

Received the invite at around 3:40 am IST. Couldn't get much sleep before that.

Those from India, have you already scheduled alumni interviews? Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai are the four options.

How is everybody planning to prepare? While sample/actual questions have been shared by interviewees from the 1st wave, could anybody list out some detailed steps on how he/she prepared?

Where was the update posted? Did you get a direct response to an email or it something public?

I was told -- by AdCom member -- this morning that bulk of invites for R1 have been released. There may be one or two here and there, but for all practical purposes, it's over. Sorry.

Did anyone who applied to Tauber Institute also get invited in the wave that came yesterday evening?

Yes, I have to interview with Ross and the Tauber institute. Didn't know that at the time.

I was originally planning on heading up to AA for an interview on Friday Dec 2. I was going to do my VIP visit that day too, but just saw that due to no classes on fridays, the VIP only consists of a tour.

Should I head up that thursday instead to get the full visit (tour, class, lunch)?

i'm doing super interview saturday (12/03), but i'm coming in early to do a class visit on thursday...so if you do it too, might see you.

I'll be there on thursday. EARLY (845 am) interview, then class visit, tour and lunch.

No mails as yet and i've lost all hopes now..
@bmania- i thought the waiting list would be prepared from the interviewed candidates rather than from others..isnt??

Those that have never been interviewed will be either dinged or put on a waitlist on January 13. Also a few of those that were interviewed will also be on a waitlist.

I agree with SonyRemote that it's almost over now. :(

Best wishes with other applications and interviews.

does anyone know what percentage of applicants interview and of those interviews, what % gets admitted?

neosumit
pyarapopat
For R1 last year there were 108 applicants in the 2011 applicant thread and 67 received an invite - that is roughly 62% of the applicants. Presuming we maintain a same ratio we should have 47 interview invites this year for 76 applicants.

That is another 31 invites for today.

Just some fun stats to pass time ... best of luck everyone!

Latest stats on BW:

Applications (admitted and denied) to the newest class: 2,929
Applicants who were accepted to the most recent class: 32 %
Admitted applicants who enrolled in the newest class: 53 %
Applicants who were re-applicants from prior years: 5 %
Percentage of this year's reapplicants accepted: 33 %
Applicants wait-listed during the last admissions cycle: 472
Wait-listed applicants admitted for the semester to which they applied: 131
Applicant interviews are: By invitation only
Applicants (admitted and denied) who were interviewed: 50 %
Admitted applicants who were interviewed: 100 %

Looking at the stats of past year and assuming not many changes this year, applicants have a 50-50 chance of getting an invite, while those who are invited for interview have roughly 2/3 chance of getting admitted.

I don't believe that GMAT is not an important criterion while deciding to send the interview invites i.e. first v/s second waves. I expect that the average GMAT scores of invited candidates to drop once the wave 2 invites are sent out by Ross.

This seems too high...from US News the acceptance rate is 25% or something, I am not sure why there is a difference between BW and US News and World Reports... but if US News is right then its more of a 50/50 shot after the interview

To folks who are in the same boat as me, below is the reply I got from ross adcom, after I requested an update, if R1 applications review has been completed. But yeah, though the reply sounds optimistic, in reality, as many of you have said, looks like its a ding for all those who haven't got an invite yet. Do check you spam once.

Good Morning,

At this time it is uncertain whether or not another round of interview invitations will be sent out. Round one applications are still being processed. If you are selected for an interview, invitations will be sent out via the email address listed on your application. Please be conscious of your email spam and trash folders to ensure that potential correspondence doesn’t end up there. To continue to remain updated on the application/interview process, please reference Soojin’s blog. We appreciate your patience during this process. Please refer to the dates and deadlines link listed below to provide further clarity regarding the timeframe for round one.

Best Regards,

Hey All,

Just wanted to check if these interviews are casual or formal and do these happen in cafeterias or an official building.
Also, anyone from Gurgaon invited for the interview?

Regards,

Hey guys, congrats to those who got interview invites. If you choose to interview on campus shoot me an email at [email protected] if you'd like to meet to meet another student. I can tell you about the town,Tauber and potentially hook you up with students in your area of interest. I am also an official student ambassador so say hello if you're on my tour/lunch/whatever.

The US News acceptance rate applies to the Class of 2012. BW's is for the Class of 2013. Poets & Quants actually has a summary of all the acceptance rates in the past year's application cycle. See the following link for the class of 2013 acceptance rates: https://poetsandquants.com/2011/10/24/why-its-easier-to-get-into-a-top-school/2/.

Ok guys.

Just completed my in-person interview with an alumnus in Mumbai.

Few questions that were asked:

1. Why MBA? Why this goal?
2. Why Ross?
3. Any Weakness
4. How will you contribute to Ross?
5. Disappointment at Work
6. Activities outside of Work
7. Challenges while working with people from different cultures

Few more that were specific to my profile.

One more important thing that I found was that there are lot many people invited that are not a member of this forum.
Someone was already lined up for interview after me and seems there were lot many to be interviewed.
Lot of invitees have gone out and the 50% interview invite stats on Businessweek seems to be correct.

Know yourself inside-out and even Ross!!

All the best.

Thanks a lot for that, I had this same doubt. So, basically what happened was that Michigan had a decrease in yield, right? They accepted 25% of the 2,722 applicants for the class of 2012 and with a strong 71% yield formed their class with approximately 483 students. For the class of 2013, their yield reduced to 53%. So, they accepted 32% of the 2,929 applicants to form a class with approximately 490 students.

Is this correct? Also, does anyone know how much easier is R1, if at all?
