Ross 2012 - Calling All Applicants

Congrats to all of those getting interview invites! Based on my very unscientific observations from round 1, timing of interview isn't related to the date you submitted your app or your chances of acceptance. I submitted about 5 minutes before the deadline and got my interview invite in the first wave, whereas others submitted much earlier and got later invites.

Also, for those of you undecided about Super Saturday, I can say that I enjoyed the experience and it increased my desire to attend Ross. It was great meeting admissions committee members, current students, and especially perspective students. Gave me a good feel about the type of people that attend Ross (or at least are interested in attending Ross) and gave you an idea about fit. Interviewing with a second year student was also nice. If you can afford it and have the time, I'd recommend attending (although the one I went to wasn't geared towards women).

There are several more hotels further south near briarwood. The taxi's are really cheap here and pretty convenient.

Didn't get an invite . When will the 2nd wave of invites go out?

I was WL'ed without interview in R1. Received an invite yesterday. I think somebody correctly pointed out that ROSS would most likely be inviting everybody for interview who was WL'ed without interview.

R1 waitlister without interview. No invite yesterday. End of road as R1 waitlisters were supposed to get an invite in this wave.

Waitlist group has 173 members. Assuming some people haven't joined the group, I think no of R1 waitlisters with and without an interview might be ~225-250??

Man this Ross wait list strategy is so confusing!!

They waitlisted 472 and accepted 131 of those applicants last year, so yeah... 250 sounds about right for R1.

Got invited for an interview..!

Did anyone receive an invite today?

Unfortunately, I don't think people are getting any invites outside of the blast emails that have been announced on the admissions director's blog

yeah well, I missed the 1st train then!

I was in the last batch of interviews for round 1 and I was admitted. When the first batch came out and I wasn't in it, I really didn't think anything of it.

I don't think that's right, I got mine interview spot pretty late in the cycle and there was only a couple of us on the forum who got the email at that time.

A couple things to keep in mind, because the interview slots are typically 2 weeks after you have been invited to interview, and interviews go on for over a month, they send out the invites in a trickle in the later half to make sure people have spots to sign up and make it easier for the interviewers.

Also remember that the people who post on GC are only a SMALL SUBSET of applicants (2K applications/ 90 people who post) so not everything that happens in the world of interviews get posted on here.
