Internationals who have applied in R2 or plan to apply to Ross during R3:

I am an Indian national admitted to Ross during Round 1.
However we are facing challenges in terms of arranging finances for the steep tuition fees.

Though Ross had a non cosigner loan option the prior year, we probably may not have any such loan option this year.
We are trying hard for Ross to negotiate a deal with a financial institution but nothing is clear at this moment.

I have posted on this forum so that International candidates, in case admitted, are realistic about attending Ross and arranging loans from their home countries.
Most of the R1 candidates applied to Ross assuming a similar loan option as last year will be available to us!

In any case, all the best to those who have already applied and to those planning to apply to Ross!!

WOW!! Between Soojin calling a certain poster out for a bad attitude and stretching the truth and her complete rebuttal to "Ross Hopeful" on her blog I can tell she doesn't play.

Remind me to never get on her bad side!

i can't believe nobody's posted soojin's blog post yet...! sound familiar?
Awesome.

Fantastic! New level respect for Soojin. As an aside, the posters attitude doesnt tally up with the Ross culture (at least what I have experienced), so even if they really did apply and not get an interview, its all for the best.

So, I am attending the 2/4 Women's event and just received a note from my "interview buddy" who has already answered many questions and has asked me to join her for dinner/follies after the interview. Kudos to Ross for making the application/interview process so comfortable for candidates.

.. I am, too. But I'm curious why she didn't even call me for an interview. I'd like to know why? Too few people have way too much power -- this has to change. GMAT 780/ GPA 3.88 (MIT) ... I atleast deserved a f****** call.

I think she is referring to this post here..Any clarifications buddy?
I looked at SonyRemote's profile... he/she has not posted any information about his GMAT or schools that he/she applied to...hmmm why is all of that so secret, if the scores and qualifications are that awesome.

I liked reading Soojin's blog. I appreciate the transparency of the process. There is no need to keep the admissions process a secret. Also she is dead against consultants.
I submitted my application to a consultant who contacted me through this blog, and I recieved the worst review ever. Initially I was depressed, but I decided to go against a consultant for the same reasons Soojin mentioned, which is too many of the applications sound like they came out of the same cookie cutter.
There is a very interesting interview with her on poets and quants. https://poetsandquants.com/2011/12/15/the-gatekeeper-to-michigans-ross-school-of-business/
P&Q has the whole gatekeeper series that I just discovered.

i actually did the same after i saw soojin's blog post; if you look at sonyremote's post history, s/he never even so much as posted once in the hbs thread and it really sounded like s/he got dinged at booth. i don't want to instigate anything though...it doesn't really matter.

and when i first saw the post, i thought to myself that maybe s/he came off as arrogant in the application and that may have been why...and also because ross might've sensed it was a safety.

Haha I love this analysis and the very public callout by Soojin. Maybe each of the components of his/her stats was inflated by 1 - GMAT 670 / GPA 2.77 (LIT) [Lamar Institute of Tech.]

I took my alumn interview last afternoon.

My interviewer was a very nice and friendly gentleman. We sat at a quiet coffee shop and spent almost 2 hours. The official interview part (the questions were pretty regular ones) was a bit less than 45 mins and for the rest of the time, we were chatting over different things about Ross; its culture, faculty, community, and the town of Ann-Arbor. My interviewer was kind enough even to share his own career aspirations. One thing that particularly moved me was his 100% honest comments and that's where I again realized that Ross is a "Different" school.

For my part, I didn't really have a blast, but I think I didn't bomb it either.
So, plz wish me good luck.

May be a good question for internationals to ask during the interviw in resposne to "Do you have any questions for me", eh? Lot of internationals are having strong concerns on the loans side, so stay close to adcom's announcement.

What do you mean by different? That comment intrigued me. Not trying to call you out or start a battle just curious on people's take on Ross.
