Am in tooo. But donno how to proceed abt it... Went thru the website, gathered a few info. There are no STANFORD info sessions as of now in India. Also I wd nt b able to visit the school coze m in India. Dont know ny alumuni also. Ny suggestions how shall I go abt gathering info abt the coll.? Wd b following this forum...what else cd I do other than that?
I want to piggyback off someone else's thread and consolidate it into this thread (per another poster's comments to keep the board clean).
When Stanford asks for the current direct supervisor - is it okay to skip one chain of command? We've had a lot of turnover in the supervisor position and the latest has been my supervisor for just over a month whereas my manager I've been with for a longer period of time. I've done some projects reporting directly to the manager but my day-to-day things report to the new supervisor.
I think it will be okay either way I just think the manager might be able to speak more to my development.
Hi guys, I am flying to SF for business next week and I have scheduled a visit to Stanford for their Friday Information Session on the 14th. Does anyone want to meet up? Do you know of current students there who would be open to chat with an applicant?
I did a visit back in the spring. As far as I know, the office people won't give out email of current students to prospective students (they say that students get bombarded when they did this) But during classes/walkthrough of the school you can definitely make connection with students, and they are very open and nice in sharing their stories. They'll give you their info as well if you want to do a follow up.
They don't allow class visits till October so the only option was an Information Session with Admissions. Classes don't start till September 15. How about GMATclub alumnae who went/are going to the school?

Do you think you'll be able to get back again? I didn't find the info session all that helpful when I went.
Did you try and PM Terry? I don't know if he subscribes to the threads. You could also check out the Stanford thread from last year, but I think most of the GSB admits ended up at HBS. One other thing you might try if you can't find someone is to PM kryzak. He goes to Haas, but I think he's probably still in the area and I think knows quite a bit about Stanford.
They would have to invite me to an Interview to get a second visit The flights to SF are steep from Atlanta. Thank you very much for the suggestion, I will ping Terry and kryzak.
