Hi guys (tempo, northern, and anyone else still waiting),

I'll admit it's not looking too hot for us. I just saw the invites on the BW board but it looks like they are reading through the weekend and then send on Mondays (?) since the past two weeks we've seen more invites going out on those days.

Along with those invites, one person on BW said he'd been to many info sessions and the AdCom has repeatedly said that they will issue invites up to the deadline (read: don't give up hope!). Right now it's the 20th mile of the marathon where it feels like things are hopeless but we just have to keep going. :)

I will say that based on the profiles we've seen here, Stanford looks like they are definitely trending younger.

In any case, I agree with tempo, if we don't get in, it's Stanford's loss. ;) Kudos to us for putting ourselves out there (at least a 12/16 date allows us to fail fast and move on).

The app was a grueling but also eye-opening experience for me, regardless of the outcome.

Hope everyone has a great (and delicious) Thanksgiving. :-D

snowhappy,

i guess that's the way to think...but so far i have totally failed to understand the reason behind this stanford rejection...on paper i had an A+ in every area that seemed to matter to stanford...except age maybe...

Anyways, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you...take a break from all the thinking and enjoy a day with friends and family...there still are things to be thankful about...isn't it :)

I think this week is the last week to receive an interview invite.

Hope adcoms are happily back from Thanksgiving and send many interviews.

Good luck to everyone!

New to the forum, hate to take away from the ppl awaiting news about interviews as I'm applying R2. Just wanted to know what my chances are...i got waitlisted at Columbia so I know Stanford is a HUGE reach..but u never know

graduated from a top ten undergrad bus program, worked at lehman for 1.5 years and now at barclays (was unemployed for 5 months). have also started my own nonprofit org which has been featured on TV. other ECs include leading a junior board at another nonprofit and being selected for a social enterprise incubator program. GMAT is a 730 and gpa is 3.6. thoughts?

So it sounds like nothing from S this week, huh? Bummer. I wonder if they experienced the same 20% bump in R1 apps that Chicago had.

mbasc: I don't think anyone's chances at Stanford are particularly good, but it looks like you're competitive so put as much energy as you can into the essays and give it a shot. best of luck!

congratulations!

seems there is still hope. although, invites volume are extremely low. maybe the bulk has already been sent in the previous weeks.

any thoughts?

there is a post on BW forums that says - according to adcom, most invites have been sent but they are still reviewing applications...i wouldn't say there is much chance now...

True ... its now only 3rd, 4th,7th and 8th left for them to send the invites....so that they give a week for interviewing, if not 10 days. And, even if they send out heavily, it would just be another 20 or 25 interviews in the final moment.... super faint chances left! The '20-25' lucky ones to sail out now!!!

Passed from utter hopelessness into absolute hopelessness. I am sure that most of those who are going to be interviewed now will not be from India or for that matter far from California.
No problems, dear Stanford, I'll try next time. Best of luck to all those who are still hopeful.
