Sure thing. 10 years of experience covering most countries in Southeast Asia. Sort of a “new venture builder” for one of SEA’s biggest tech companies.

Female, sub-3.0 GPA, 675 GMAT FE.

Applied to both MBA/MSx.

Career aspiration is to grow into a c-suite leader at my current company or a tech company with strong presence in SEA. Applying with the hope of using GSB as a career accelerator and network builder. Beyond that, really looking forward to a year of personal change and growth.

Company sponsorship in progress.

Yes I see 2 people got accepted on livewire. I guess they started calling folks 31st onwards. I never got any call till now, so I am assuming I did not make the cut as MSx is a small cohort and R2 acceptances would be a handful. I don’t think they’ll take so much time calling people.. so maybe this sounds depressing, but reality check time 🙂
I am an R3 Applicant, the application status still shows "Under Review" , no interview ... very dejected ...

cml78
I’m an R2 applicant and got the call the morning of April 2 (Asia time). Another friend based in Asia got her call around the same time. The admissions officer who called me said they’re doing the calls in batches. Wishing everyone the best of luck!
Congratulations cml78 ... can you please elaborate your profile for us .... have a blast .... :)

But it’s such a wonderful problem to have!

Out of curiosity and if okay to share, did you end up paying the deposit for Sloan Fellows? Or they granted you an extension?

Just wanted to know how flexible schools are with these things for future reference.

Thank you!

cml78
A lot of WhatsApp and LinkedIn messaging with people I've been connected with who were / are in the same boat, a lot of convos with mentors and peers within my network, and — if, in a few hours, I'm still not clear — probably a Reddit / GMAT Club post... sounds like I'm kidding, but I am not! 😅

I suspect though that this decision will boil down to a classic coin toss 🫣

Congratulations! How do to plan to choose between MIT Sloan Fellow program and MSx program, if you don't mind sharing?

I agree... it’s a privilege, and I shouldn’t diminish that!

MIT didn’t grant me an extension... but I do know a few who did get an extension, and the common denominator seems to be that they applied in R1. MIT’s program starts a month earlier than Stanford’s, so I understand their need to finalize the cohort sooner.

I haven’t confirmed and made a deposit with any program yet, and I have about 12 hours to decide and commit!

I am in Asia and interviewed with MSx R2 also, did not get a call Apr 2nd morning so am mentally preparing for the worst.

That said, much appreciate you being so honest and open about your process; will help soften the blow a bit for me if I got rejected when I find out a couple of hours later.

Wherever you decide to go I hope you have the best time =)

Waitlisted here. Does anyone know if there has been cases of people clearing the round 2/3 waitlist? It's been quite a ride with the process, so best of luck to everyone in this thread!

There have been 2 people who have been admitted from the R1 MSx waitlist as per live wire updates. So, there appears to be hope. I cannot remain on the WL, as I have another school to consider. The steps that can help you get off the WL are getting an additional LOR from an alumnus, career progression like promotion, salary increase, job change, any relevant industry recognitions, or a higher test score. Also, the WL movement is slightly dependent on luck. If someone with a similar profile/background drops out, then that increases your chances of getting accepted. All the best!

I got waitlisted by both Stanford MSx and MIT Sloan Fellows but MIT reached out yesterday and gave me an offer.

Stanford MSx is still my first choice because I want to pivot to VC in the US, so planning to secure offer with MIT first and see how it goes.

Anyone in the same boat? Want to know people are navigating this, and generally what to do to get off the Stanford MSx waitlist.

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing very well. I have a trip planned to California during the second half of August, and since I’m planning to apply to the MSx program, I think it would be a great opportunity to visit the campus and do some networking. What do you think is the best way to go about visiting the campus? Is it worth meeting with someone in particular from the admissions team?. I really appreciate your thoughts.

Hello furgelles,

It makes a lot of sense to do this.

You should write to the Ad Com in advance and request them for their availability.

All the best!
