R3 applicant. I had my phone interview last week and it was very relaxed and conversational. (Seemed a little too relaxed for an interview).

The website says the decisions for R3 will be mailed out May 3. For previous rounds, can someone confirm if they stick to these dates, or if that is just a No Later Than date?

Does anyone have recommendations on distance learning Calculus courses? While I would prefer to take an in-person course, my full-time job and the fact that I need to complete this by mid July do not allow for this to happen. I have to take this course as my admission is provisional on passing this course.

Thanks for the link. I've seen that video before, but this time I noticed the Warren Buffett MBA talks on the side...now that's some real worthwhile stuff.

Kellogg is great. I'm sure you'll love it there.

On another note, and in an effort to revive this thread, what's everyone's take on Tepper's dean resigning at year end? Does this have any real impact on incoming students?

Definitely it will be a challenge for Tepper to get someone like Kenneth Dunn as the new Dean. After all, Dunn is the one responsible for bringing the $55M donation to Tepper.

It may affect the school as a whole, but I'm curious what the impact to an incoming student might be. I don't know what type of interaction students have with the dean.

Yes, Dean Dunn has done very good work there, including securing Tepper's donation.

hope that the welcome weekend was a crazy, fun experience for all. when u guys have time, i'd be interested in a recap of the memorable/ridiculous things that took place...

letsgomets: it seems that you're still tryin to decide between tepper and goizueta, has the experience at either one of the admit weekends sold u on a top choice?

Tepper's welcome weekend was good. There were a few icebreakers so you could learn about other admitted students, an international festival where current students showed off skills you'd never know they had, a few sessions (academic, club, career), a dinner at Heinz field, after parties at bars down the block from the hotel. It was nice.

I'm still undecided. Emory's welcome weekend really blew me away and CMU's didn't, but there's no denying that for trading, it's significantly easier to get a good job out of CMU. I actually decided during this weekend to apply to the MSCF program as a dual degree, and if I get into that, I think I'll go to CMU. Otherwise, I'm pretty content going to Emory and rounding out some of the leadership and management skills that I don't have much experience with.

Anyway, at this point, I'm still undecided. I'll know soon enough.

LGM, that makes a lot of sense. Tepper's MSCF program is well known for trading, but I don't know that the MBA program is especially so. Your job prospects are probably equally good at Emory.

I think the job prospects are definitely a bit better at Tepper than Emory for trading. The fact is that many S&T desks and lots of prop firms come to Tepper to recruit MSCF kids and that quantitative-minded MBAs tend to get interviews with these firms too. They don't come to Emory at all.

But, if you look at the MBA as a chance to build a new skill set (and not just as a means to a better job), going to Emory makes sense for me. Anyway, I've postponed my decision now until the end of May (when they get back to me about mscf).

LGM summed it up well.I felt tired for most of the meet,so did not attend the after hours parties. To add on to the ice breaker thing that LGM mentioned,I and another girl represented our team in front of the class. It is just kind of getting to know each other.

Overall,I felt the student body to be pretty diversified in terms of their experiences. 60% of the graduating class accepted full-time offers.I know atleast few who are still searching for internships/FT offers.

I also heard that the administration is exploring ways to build a new building.
