When is the QSRP supposed to start this summer?

It's 7/26-8/06. I'm required to attend if I matriculate (= useless humanities major).

OK, I think I'm gonna sit this one out. I'm going to email Tepper and decline the interview. I feel really bad, though, because I just submitted my application on 3/10, and they sent me the interview invite a week later. The timing was really weird, because I got my admit call from Ross on 3/11, the very next day after the application deadline for Tepper.

In paragraph 2 of my admit letter on applyyourself. My letter was an odd mix of things: provisional admission based on taking a math course and QSRP, plus a merit scholarship. Oh well. :-)

Just got my interview invite. I was getting kind of nervous seeing this rounds invites go out several days ago. I have sort of unique circumstances, but I am curious what everyone thinks about a phone or Skype interview versus the on campus?

Can't believe it.
After last few nerve wrecking days I got interview invites from both Haas and Tepper in one day.
I guess somebody up there really likes me a lot. :-D

Congrats on the invite. There's nothing wrong with a phone interview/skype interview. I was supposed to fly out to Pittsburgh for an in person interview, but a blizzard came, so it became a phone interview instead. I did visit the school a few weeks later to meet them in person, see a class, etc.

So, with that said, I think a phone/skype interview is fine, but if you can make an effort to get to CMU before a decision is made, it may help too.

I was given the same conditions and am just about finished with the calculus course, which I started at the end of January. If you end up doing it I would stay away from Mathematica/distance learning.

Nobody posts anymore... I actually need some help/advice. I'm in Atlanta now, and while I was leaning heavily toward Tepper before my Emory visit, I'm now very undecided.

Can anyone post something that substantiates the type of leadership education that one would get at Tepper?

Flew back to NY this afternoon. I think I'll end up sending a deposit to Emory and be willing to pay $1100 to have optionality after both welcome weekends.

I'm thinking of putting in a last minute application to Tepper. As a US applicant, will this be possible for me to do? Also, what are the chances that I can get in at this point. My stats are 3.1 from PSU / 2 yrs ibanking / 3 yrs private equity / 720 GMAT / M 28yo. I also grew up in PIttsburgh and attended CMU for one year during undergrad before transferring to PSU due to financial reasons. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks coakley. I think it's my only viable play right now.

You have no idea how impressed I was by Emory's weekend.... I thought about canceling my trip to Atlanta and signing with Tepper this past Wednesday, but decided I should really check out their program and flew down there this Thursday. I went with an open mind, but I was hoping I'd have an easy decision. To be perfectly honest, I was kind of hoping I wouldn't like it. Instead I liked almost everything about it, but I still think that it will be tougher to get the job I want immediately out of school. I really underestimated Emory and they treated me very well.

Anyway, I'm going to call them tomorrow and obviously thank them, and see what I can do about delaying my decision. The fact that the welcome weekends are 1 month apart stinks (I'd bet CMU's decision was somewhat influenced by the weather in Pittsburgh). If I have to pay the deposit, I will. I think it's unwise to make a decision this big without seeing both sides first. I also don't know who'd I'd pick right now.
