I think if college mentions that "we encourage applicants to get an LOR from their current supervisor", then it makes sense to mention why you couldn't get, else you can leave it. In any case it won't hurt to state why it is not there. That's just my thinking.

I just went with the standard issue 1 inch margin all the way around.

I used 1.25 inches on sides and 1 inch at top and bottom.

One last question on app ... guys: I did submit my app and received this message on main screen: Submission Status: Submitted Submitted Date: 10/25/2009 But for some reason I am still able to go in the app and modify the fields. But I did notice that the "Submit" radio button is not there. So I hope thats the right behavior. Can somebody confirm? PS; Sorry for asking all these stupid questions ... this is the first time and i wanna make sure that I dont do any silly mistake.
