How does being able to speak English matter then?
I don't mean to drag this on

But we need to take a step back and let these colleges decide whom to admit

If they decide not to offer a seat, then big whoop
Move on to better colleges/things in life

Because your communication skills are very very important to getting a job in your field, especially at this time frame where companies are not really that interested in hiring internationals. I have seen it occur where having a very thick accent/having poorer english speaking skills have impacted one’s ability to get a job. It’s unfortunate but it is the reality.

yeah they do that is true, but ive seen UCLA allow more of those people in

just check clear admit and look at the stats of who theyre inviting.

I got mediocre stats and got invited, I dont think they are only going for high stats people. It is tough for us to assume how they go through selection process

btw i wouldnt call a 645 mediocre. We need to stop looking at everything through the lens of an Indian Male engineer who’s pool of competition is very different than yours.
