That is interesting (if I am reading it right) that they re-reviewed your app six days after being waitlisted.

I completely agree. I have been waitlisted 8 weeks to the date. Was the e-mail a response to an inquiry you had? Or did UT decide to contact you voluntarily with an update?

They contacted me; I had not inquired. The email was from an admissions associate not the usual Texas Program email address. I'm not sure if that makes a difference...
I am currently waitlisted (from round 2), and was recently told that I will probably hear something on May 17. Of course, I can't guarantee the accuracy of this - but thought my fellow waitlisters might want to know.

Well, folks - looks like I'm just another false prophet after all. I'm still waiting to hear, and it sounds like some of you are as well. If I had a reputation left, I'd still stake it that there will be some movement this week, let's just hope it involves us message-boarders.
Sorry to hear that, it sounds like there are similarities between many of the waitlists this year. I am WL at Duke, UT, and UNC... haven't heard a word from any of them (which isn't all bad as I am not dinged yet).
Somewhat off topic, but I was reading Kafka's "The Castle" last night, and this sentence jumped out at me:
"Of course all that useless standing about and waiting all day, and day after day, and going on and on without any prospect of a change, must break a man down and make him unsure of himself and in the end actually incapable of anything else but this hopeless standing about."

Oh, the unfortunate parallels.

Nice. Wonder why didn't mention anything about checking mba forums?

I can tell you that the class of 2012 facebook group has 229 members currently, but some of those are current students. The admitted students web site has 520 total members currently, though some of those are current students and some are staff.

thanks for that merkin! that makes it seem like those on the waitlist, myself included, have very little chance of getting in. even with a 50% yield..waitlist acceptances will probably be rare. am i offbase on this?

I don't think your off base. You can checklist years stats on businessweek. Looks like they wl'd about 10% of total applicants, then offered admission to 20% of that 10%. I.e. ~2400 applied, 240 wait listed, 50 accepted off the waitlist.
