Would be interesting to see how many waitlisters have been accepted vs dinged so far to see if it's above or below the ~20% mark.

I haven't heard of anyone being accepted of the waitlist yet. It seems to me from the bw figures that there was a 20% chance of getting accepted off the waitlist. Isn't that the same as UTs overall acceptance rate? All based on last year of course.

anyone have any idea how much the class has filled up until this point? i've heard UT is pretty firm on the 260 class size

I can tell you that the class of 2012 facebook group has 229 members currently, but some of those are current students. The admitted students web site has 520 total members currently, though some of those are current students and some are staff.

This may be a dumb question but whenever members of the admitted students web site withdraw, do you notice a decrease in the total number? Or does it just track how many people have been accepted?

I can't say that I've been paying attention but I'm guessing that it does not decrease. I'm sure the forum just has an automated counter with every new registration and I doubt the IT department rolls it back when someone withdraws their application.

ughhh i'm so sick of this interminable waiting! (sorry, had to whine a little). It's still pretty early in the day though. Someone might hear something yet.

I was looking at last year's thread. Looks like UT was still handing out accepts until the end of June. That's not encouraging.

I think the Adcom is waiting for the dust to settle. Most deposits were due last week or earlier. People are dropping off waitlists as they accept other offers and informing admissions that despite their deposit, they are going to a different school. Adcom does not want to extend an offer to someone that won't accept (yield). Once they think its safe, and the WL is solid, they will start offering spots. The top schools move first, then a ripple effect opens spots down the chain.

(this is just my theory BTW, agree or disagree)

Congrats SDG, that is awesome. If i remember correctly, didn't you get waitlisted only two weeks ago, then received an email a week later that they had already re-reviewed your app? Clearly they liked you a ton from the beginning.

Gmat 680, ug gpa 3.72, 5.5 yrs we. (Management and operations). I’ve received several promotions and had good lors.

Monday I received a call from admissions that seemed like an impromptu interview. They asked me my chances of attending if they were to admit me. This caught me off guard completely I thought I had bombed. I was told I should receive an update Friday (Monday at the latest). I haven’t posted because I didn’t want to jinks myself.

Today I received an offer.
I'm still in a bit of shock.

Congratulations! I also received a call like this, a few weeks back. It caught me entirely off guard - I was expecting to hear a "yes" or "no," and instead was asked some follow up questions. I was stammering like an idiot, it was awful! Anyways, I am still waiting to hear but congrats again and good luck to the rest of us.

Someone on the waitlist on another forum was contacted, without solicitation, by adcom to inform him or her that a decision may not come until June. Is it odd that they send unsolicited updates to some people on the waitlist (in some cases after only a week) and not others who have been waiting for months? I get the feeling there is a hierarchy, and I am at the bottom.

yeah i get the same feeling. there must be some sort of heirarchy in place..

Hard to say - if so, I was at the top of the hierarchy when I received a call letting me know there would be an update in May, and have slipped down the hierarchy since...

Also, I wanted to confirm that there will be another review in "early to mid-June." I received this information in response to an email.

Howdy folks,
Longtime lurker here. I applied to McCombs in late March, interviewed in late April, and still have not hear back. When I contacted them a few weeks ago, word was that I should expect to hear something in the week of the 24th, if not before. Anyone else in the same boat--not waitlisted but just waiting for a response?
