I'm trying to figure out what I should do if I get into UCLA. It would be a tough choice between UCLA and McCombs. Even though UCLA is ranked higher, something felt really good about McCombs when I visited.

Thanks guys!

asianstyles, best of luck with UCLA. If you do get in I'd say forget about the rankings and follow whatever feels right.

For the admitted candidates:
Have you accepted the offer?
I am wondering if accepted too early will impact how they would determine your scholarship. Any idea?
Thanks.

I have not yet accepted. I really loved McCombs, but I also really loved some of the other schools I've interviewed with. I didn't expect an offer to come so quickly (for me the process took a month almost exactly) and money is certainly a factor. I don't find out about my other applications until end of January/beginning of Feburary and I don't have to decide about McCombs until February 15. I certainly want any scholarship information before deciding, even if it doesn't end up being a deciding factor. They had initially mentioned they'd be sending out scholarship information by December 18 (I think?), but I haven't heard anything. Of course, there's a better than average chance I won't be receiving any type of scholarship, but it doesn't sound like anyone has heard anything about money yet (at least on the forum).

I'm guessing no calls today. Probably means no more calls this year (2009).

the MAC closed yesterday for the holidays and they will not reopen till 01/04/10. At least there is no need to stress about decisions for a while. Happy Holidays.

Where (geographically) do you want to work after graduation? I think outside of the Top 3 schools (depending on your definition of Top 3) everyone else is pretty regional...with many slanted towards NYC. For example, Stern is a great school but I wouldn't go there since I want to live in Texas after graduation (and get an internship in TX during the summers). While I could find a job in Texas coming from Stern it would require a lot more leg work than had I gone to schools like McCombs, Rice, SMU...even though those are seen by many as not as prestigious. Same thing applies here. Now if the answer is "i dont know" then I would start boiling it down to the different program offerings.

Maybe that's obvious, but just something to think about.

I want to work somewhere that is warmer than the Midwest :)

I'm planning to return to the company that I currently work for after graduation. I can pretty much pick any major city to work in. I like both Austin and LA.
