Wow I got my interview invite today, after I gave up all hopes lol.. I'd applied on November 1st

I told you it could come! You had it much worse than I did though, having to endure the wait through the holidays as well!

Good luck on your interview!

Happy New Year to everyone. I have a quick question. I checked the two status links in this thread. At the status page from the B-school, the only thing I see is "A Letter from Associate Dean Eric Hirst". On the status page from GIAC, it shows "Current School-Major: McCombs School Of Business Business Administration (Mba, First Year) Master's". For those who have heard from McCombs, where did you see your status to be "Accepted, wishlisted, or dinged"? Thanks a lot! BTW, I interviewed in early Dec, but I have yet to hear anything after that.

The links I checked were:
https://utdirect.utexas.edu/business/mb ... /index.WBX

and

Re-posting this question here since I accidentally put it in the Admitted thread:

Did any of you guys do the Texas MBA Day program that they offer? Did you think it's a much better option than a regular day class visit?

I'm trying to weigh the options for visiting. I could only get into the MBA Day on Jan 29th when I registered a little before the holidays. I'm praying I will get an interview invite soon, and if I do, I'd like to visit and do the interview on campus. But schedule-wise it would work better for me to visit earlier, which would limit me to a class visit.

I did the MBA day program in Austin (October) and I attended an information session in Dallas (December after application was submitted). I heard the same information in both places: presentation by the dean, info on plus program, and info on career development. At MBA day you eat lunch with current students and take a tour. At the information session you have the chance to speak to alumni. I never visited a class, but wish I did. Maybe you can knock out a class visit the day before your interview.

From my experience Texas wants people to show strong commitment. Imagine if you can go into your interview and say "this is my second time here, I came for MBA day to get an early feel for the school and now I am here again to interview." Of course this requires time and monetary commitment.

Side note: After my MBA Day, I filled out a paper that was added to my file.

i probably should have asked this question before i sent my transcripts this morning. do they have to be in the original sealed envelopes from the university? mine were "official" but i opened them first.....

got the answer from GIAC. they need to be unopened. shoot.

Sorry about that, mba2010pls. Good luck on your other schools.

Can you speak to how you were notified? Did they call you? Or did you find out online? If the latter, which 'status check' page had it? (there's the GIAC and the McCombs status page....)

TexanInSF I had been checking the online status page pretty often and it always went to that leader from Dean Hirst, but when it was updated, it went straight to the decision and thats how I found out.

Weight lifted.
Received the admit call today at 5 central.
Dang excited. Dang.
I will still cheer for Bama tonight because I put a lot of money on them.
Tomorrow I will convert to Texas.
