I'm R2 international applicant. anyone who is not from the states got the interview invitation?

I'm an international R1 applicant, but live stateside. Interviewed on campus 10/23.
There's not very many McCombs international applicants on the forum.

On another note, any waitlist updates? Has any of the waitlisted candidates heard any feedback so far?!

The interview scheduler started working for me Thursday night. Then I got my interview invite Friday morning. I just now tried to schedule and the site isn't working (different error than the one that showed up before I had access). Anyone else seeing this?

EDIT...working fine this AM.

I checked the interview scheduler and did receive the same "new/different" error than usual.

I applied 1/13, complete 1/28, interview invite 1/30...but I can't get the scheduler to work. I get an "exception occurred" error. Sweet.

Edit: I was able to log in and schedule my interview!

Just did my interview this morning. For the most part, I thought it went alright. I got a little flustered and carried away on the first question and tried to answer possible future questions all in one answer, but then I pulled it together and I think I gave some good responses. It was interesting ... my interviewer was a female undergrad English major from Maryland, just like me. I wonder if they did that on purpose?

Now we wait and keep our fingers crossed!

I visited McCombs last week for the Texas MBA Friday along with an interview in the afternoon. The Friday was pretty cool, kind of like a mini-Booth Live. They had the director of Career Services as well as the director of PLUS speak, and they were both very informative. We got info from a variety of adcom and students, plus lunch with some students, a presentation by Prof. Clement from the Accounting department, and a tour. All in all a very informative day.

My interview was with a 2nd year student, and went pretty well from what I could tell. Very relaxed and straightforward; no super tricky questions. I got a very good impression of the school from my interviewer and all the other students I met, and I'm hoping hard for an admit.

I also went to watch the Texas-Baylor basketball game on Saturday, which was a packed house that ended in an overtime loss. Coming from an undergrad with no major NCAA basketball or football presence, I found it to be a pretty cool experience.

Anyway, good luck to everyone!

Man I hope I get an interview invite soon... Am I wrong to think I'm running out of time? I did have delays with them receiving official GMAT scores.

If you thought that about Texas basketball, wait until football season. It's CRAZY!!!!!!

I know it might NOT be the right topic in this thread. But unfortunately I didn't get related thread. Hence posting it.....

Do any of you have applied for Cox(SMU) and what is the status........I don't think we get any update from the website.....or probably I might not be having the proper link.

I applied to SMU on 12/17 and got my interview invitation 1/5. I interviewed 1/12 and got an acceptance email 1/21 which included a significant scholarship offer. My official letter came in the mail about a week later and the decision deadline is March 5th. So as for status, everything came via email.

If you want to work in Dallas it's tough to beat their network (lot of well-heeled alums). After all, at the end of the day it's not the grades you make, it's the hands you shake. And I live across the street so that helps too. If I get into UT it will be a tough decision.

On a different note: did anyone actually go business casual to their interview? Texas claims that all interviews are business casual unless in a location that is business professional.

I want to know b/c I'll be going right from work and I am not wearing a suit to work (nor will I be able to change beforehand). I guess I can rock a tie and a jacket...but I wanted to know if anyone actually felt bus. casual was ok for a McCombs interview.

This probably ultimately comes down to what you're comfortable with. At my on-campus interview, the 2nd year who interviewed me was business casual (slacks and shirt, but no tie or jacket). We used an interview room in the MBA office. I still wore a suit and tie, but I'm one who prefers to overdress in these situations to be safe. I think a tie and a jacket would probably be okay though. I had my suit on for the whole Texas MBA Friday, and almost everyone was dressed business casual - I think there was one other person wearing a tie. But I'm not sure if how many (if any at all) had an interview the same day; none of the people I talked to had one.

Then again, if you're interviewing with a local alum, I'd definitely wear a suit.
