Did anyone else get a application status update? When I logged into the system there was nothing there. Too bad it's the weekend and I can't contact the admissions team. Btw, I am a R2 Consortium applicant.

I interviewed on Jan 29 - it was on the afternoon after one of the Texas MBA Fridays.

I don't think McCombs got to that batch of applicants yet. none of the people who got invite on 1/23 reported a decision yet.

What was the typical attire for people who were interviewing? Suits? Button down and khakis? Ties? What about the interviewer?
I will be heading to Austin pretty soon.

Thanks!

Actually, none of the other prospectives that I spoke too had an interview that day, so I don't know. In the room there were maybe 30 people, and just me and one other person had a suit and tie on. Everyone else was business casual.

My interviewer was business casual - slacks and a shirt but no tie or jacket.

Does McCombs have a final decision date? Or rather since it is rolling, do they say that you will have a decision within X weeks of submission?

I couldn't find that info on the website.

The Web site says business or business casual for the interview, so I'd think the obvious choice is to go business. The visits are more business casual, unless you have an interview the same day. I wore a suit to the interview, and nice slacks, a button down and a cardigan to Texas Friday.

The interviewer was definitely business casual, but why dress down to match? You wouldn't do it at a job interview.

By the way, did anyone who went to a Texas Friday or visit feel like they got anything out of it? I was kind of disappointed with it.

I went to a Dallas roadshow event where one person from the dean's office, admissions, and career services showed up. It was an informative and educational event. I wondered what onsite visits where like. What did you find disappointing?

I felt like it was a lot of repeated information, for one. Also, it was about 4 hours in one room, listening to various speakers more or less saying the same thing. There wasn't even a tour of campus involved. I guess for me it was all information I already knew from Texas Roadshow events and my research of the school. I would have thought actually visiting campus would be a lot different than an offsite event, but it really wasn't. Lunch with a current student was really great though, and it was nice to meet some other prospectives!

I do agree that the 4 hours in the room was kind of long and repetitive, but I did really enjoy the lunch, and meeting the various students. There was a tour after the lunch too, unless u r referring to the entire campus rather then just the bschool building...

Yeah my texas friday definitely had a tour, we even went across the street to check out the gym. A tour of that entire campus would take forever and is unnecessary. I've been to Austin a hundred times and haven't seen all of the UT campus.

It is true that the information was repetitive compared to the Dallas roadshow (which I also attended) but there is only so much information to pass along. If you show up to every event you are bound to hear things repeated.

With respect to attire, for my alumni interview I wore a sport coat and slacks, but I would definitely do coat and tie for an on-campus interview.

Just got an interview invite!

I submitted my application on January 15th (although they didn't get the transcript until the 18th) and am an international student.

Did you already have your interview? I submitted on the R2 deadline, got my interview invite 10 days later, had my interview Feb 8th, but my status didn't change to forwarded to committee until the 12th.

Roll Call Updated with snowinTX's invite

Don't lose hope yet thewearykind. I think you should at least get an invite with your GMAT, unless you have less than 2 years WE.
