I just got an admit a few hours ago. :-D
Really excited to have a great EXP at McCOMBS.

In sum :

Got an interview invitation - 01/28
Had an interview with Alumni - 02/22
Got a second interview invitation - 03/05
Had a 2nd interview with Admission Committee via Skype - 03/10
Got an admit (Informal notification) - 03/16

Duderanch, I understand Houston and Austin keep things completely separate. I received my admit letter from Houston on 3/3/2010 and from Austin on 3/8/2010.

Cowboy, maybe a stupid question, but which way are you leaning with regards to Austin or Houston?

Austin is the front runner, but I currently work in Houston. I have to decide if giving up my job (not my dream position) and living poor for two years is worth it. I also want to know what the Houston program lacks, besides the obvious, compared to the Austin program.

I originally was applying to only full-time programs, with McCombs being the obvious choice for staying in Texas. After some personal stuff popped up, I began to wonder if I was doing the right thing by taking two years off from work to do this, so I also applied to the Houston program. But in the end, I decided 80K is a hell of an investment to not get the best possible MBA experience. I'll forgo the two years of pay if I can have a better chance of achieving my post-MBA goals at Austin. I'm hoping I get into the Austin program (I interviewing Feb. 19 after turning my app Feb.1 - I was late); they say "it's the same", but quite honestly during an info session for Houston, the AdCom's answers to questions regarding prospects for career switchers didn't give me a "warm and fuzzy" feeling (i.e. somewhat evasive answers). I think if you want to do top-tier post-MBA work like banking or consulting, the Austin program is undoubtedly the better option. But if you want to stay in and move up within the same industry, Houston isn't a bad choice either.

What is the address for the admitted students site? No flash drive, just a letter signed by Pat Ellison welcoming me to the University of Texas at Austin.

Think that letter must strictly pertain to the Houston program. My letter is signed by Vicki Duran, has the admitted students website, mentions the facebook group, preview weekend, etc.

Hopefully I'm in the minority, but I've been a bit confused by the whole admit status layout.

Are you all seeing decisions at the below (click "Visit Application Status Check")?

That just takes me to a page that loops itself over and over.

Alternatively I can go to:
https://utdirect.utexas.edu/admissions/status_check.WBX

This is where it shows my GMAT, status of all my LORs, etc.

At the top mine reads:

We have received all credentials required to process your application. Your file has been forwarded to the Graduate Committee for review.

I'm guessing I'm still under review? Is this the status that changes when you get a decision? Or are people getting emails?

I got a call from Vicki Duran quite late, almost 7:30 PM EST followed by an email from Vicki. I was also told on the call that I was being considered for $$$ and will know of the decision by 3/30

The process you describe is how it has gone for everyone with the exception of those like texcowboy who have applied to both the full time austin and part time houston programs.

If you are admitted you will either get a call followed by an email or an email instructing you to call. If you are WL'd or dinged you might get an email or your status might just change without notification.
