Any experience with the FEMBA interviews? Mine is Saturday..

My S/O interviewed and was accepted to FEMBA. My sense was that it was almost the exact same as the full time interview I had in terms of what was covered. So you can pretty much use the info on here and other resources about the full time interview. Questions weren't too complex. Walk me through your resume...Why MBA? Why Anderson? What will you contribute? And a couple tell me about a time (leadership, teamwork, faced a challenge, made a mistake, etc)...Just have 10-15 STAR's ready that you can use to answer the standard behavioural questions.

Hope this helps!

Congrats to her! :) I've been taking notes in this thread (combed the whole thing yesterday and copied every note about 'interviews', just noted that they're all full time. The essay questions were slightly different so I'll have to adjust, but as with all interviews I guess a good start is remember and expound upon my answers to the essay questions, have a clear career goal in mind and have a few leadership examples ready to go.

I'll check the PT thread as well. Thanks :)

Bingo. This was the final week and looks like all the interviews have gone out.

You really have to appreciate MJShores and UCLA compared to some of the other schools (that keep you in the dark).

I guess that sounded snobbish.

What I meant was that if I spent $200 on the app and didn't receive an interview, I'd prefer not to be casually communicated to with that kind of message.

I 100% and completely disagree. Twitter caps character numbers. Numerous individuals have to write short-hand in their twitter updates. Definitely not indicative of any type of professionalism IMO at all.

HBS has twitter updates? With no short-hands?

Quote:
True. I do like the transparancy, but something about me wishes she didn't use shorthand like "U" in these updates. It could just be my own pet-peeve but that seems too informal for this process to me. I prefer HBS which has been entirely transparent and apropriately formal in both communication AND process.

You were accepted at Cal and did not receive an interview to UCLA?

Bizarre year for sure :)

No no I got an interview. 8-)

I was merely trying to express how I would react if I didn't have one. I'd want the process to be formal and respectful.

I'll just shutup now

Got it :)

Like I said, twitter updates are informal by nature but I definitely see where you are coming from and appreciate the way HBS conducts things as well for sure.

I have to admit, I also feel a little put off by the slightly informal nature of the communication. It's brilliant to tweet but I still want to see some formality

One more week... the anxiety is building.

On the Twitter discussion above - I think it's a little unfair to judge the informality of MJ Shores' tweets. It's an extra line of communication, not a primary one. The Anderson MBA Insider's Blog is the "official" channel, and maintains the professional/grammatical formality that is appropriate.

Twitter by nature is informal, and personally I like seeing it... it provides some extra transparency and character for the otherwise lifeless adcom.

Yes I will admit that I didn't know enough about twitter to make my statement. So that's why I rescinded it =)

So, I just tried to "update my phone number" to see if I could recreate your decision message and I did not receive anything regarding status. Where on the website did it say, "Your decision is available", on the left hand bar?

Of course, I could have just not been accepted and they are informing rejections another way, but I am eager to see if there has been any status change. Please advise, thanks!

On the main page right below "Recommendation Providers" there was a section that read "Decision Status: Available beginning...". Below that was a link that read "Your application is now available online" - clicking on that brought up my acceptance letter. Hope that helps.

Good luck to everyone!
