Yeah, that was kinda my thought process. Everything truly significant was already covered in pretty good detail in my resume, essays, and work experience--I didn't see a point in putting together something meaningless just to showcase my video editing skills, or to say something cutesy about my upbringing or some minor obstacle I overcame. Or maybe it was just laziness on my part, seeing how I had R1 apps due on Oct 6 and Oct 13 before submitting for UCLA on Oct 20, and I was burnt out by all the effort I put into Stanford and Haas.

See I'm thinking the opposite - I got lots of "stuff" but what is surprising is hard to gauge - like you said, some little video editing mastery is not going to impress them - ugh got till the 5th to figure this one out.

When I went to a UCLA info session, one of the current students highly recommended doing a video essay if that was an option. He applied in r3, but said that his impression was that ucla loves video and being able to put a face to the stories/essays.

And then it's on the site if it's a good one =) Media is good for a web 2.0/3.0 universe!

Does anyone know whether admitted applicants are called prior to the decision date? i know some b-schools do this.

According to the Anderson website they will notify applicants on a rolling basis up to the decision date, but I haven't seen any posts regarding admit/waitlist for those who interviewed.
