Sorry to hear that. Best of luck with the rest of your applications. I hope they have started giving out decisions early this year.[/quote]

no admits..only deny w/o interview, per the admissions blog :

"MBA Decisions Released at 8am Pacific Standard Time (PST) Today
As of this morning at 8am, PST, the Admissions Committee has extended one of two decisions to all Round 1 applicants: 1) an invitation to interview (all admitted students are interviewed) or 2) denied without an interivew. While we disliked the idea of denying applicants so close to the holiday season, in the end, we felt it was necessary to reduce the angst and uncertainty of the application process."

The official notification date for FT two years ago was sometime around Jan 10th.. But they rendered some decisions around Christmas time. Anyway, I don't expect any decisions to go out before Jan 12th this year, as they will be back from winter break on Jan 3rd and it is about a week to get to the decision week from that point. Well, I hope I am wrong. Man I really believe that patience is a good virtue to have!!

Thanks a lot diego77. Let's keep our patience! :)

So according this blog post today - https://mbablogs.anderson.ucla.edu/mba_a ... today.html - all R1 applicants have either been invited to interview or have been denied. I just checked my status and nothing has changed. I am assuming a ding since I haven't heard about an interview, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has not received any official notice for R1. Do you think its possible that I got waitlisted without an interview? I am assuming thats the best case scenario now.

Just curious, I've only seen one person who didn't submit an optional essay. Personally, I hate being recorded and am not keen on this. Also my topic of choice is another angle of my life event essay. Seems repetitive.

Is everyone submitting an optional?

I didn't because I couldn't think of anything to talk about that hadn't already been mentioned in my resume/essays/recommendations and I wasn't going to submit something just for the sake of submitting something. Plus UCLA was my 3rd app due in a 2 week span, and I just ran out of time and patience.

I guess we'll see if they're telling the truth when they say the optional essay won't help or hurt a candidate.

Can someone confirm if self-reported scores are good enough or if Anderson needs official scores from Pearson. The instructions on their website are confusing.

"Applicants are required to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Your application cannot be considered complete without your test scores (official or self-reported). Official GMAT score reports must be sent directly to us electronically from Pearson VUE."

Based on how it reads, self-reported should be good. It probably wouldn't hurt to get into your GMAT account and pay the $28 to get the official report sent though--that would be the safe thing to do. They may also accept a scanned copy of your official printed score report--I had one school ask me for that.

Or just call the admissions office and ask someone what else you need for your file. That would be a better answer than asking a bunch of online strangers who are probably speculating just as much as you are.

Yeah, I had problems yesterday. I sent a message to applyyourself tech support and they said:

Thank you for your message. We apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced.

We apologize for the error that you have received. This was a small momentary error in the system that did not allow applicants to login. This has since been cleared. Please attempt to login once more."

Hi guys,
After exploring UCLA web site, I seem to be unable to find an option to connect with current students. Does anyone here know how we could get in touch with current students from UCLA?

Thanks!
