Were your thank you cards very plain? My interviewer seemed pretty disconnected during the interview, did not have a lot of good things to say about the school, and did not even write my name on the card...

Trying not to read into things, but I was excited and very prepared for my interview. I did not get that 'conversation' flow that is generally seen during the Anderson interviews. I hope my interviewer does not have too much weight in my application...

I think you're thinking too hard about it. A thank you card is typically quick and succinct in nature. Mine was nice and wished me luck and thanked me for making the long drive (I was literally on the dot at the start due to like 4 accidents on my drive).

What do you mean by 'conversation' flow generally seen during the interviews? I felt like my interviewer asked pretty standard questions and I led him to reveal some more personal details to keep it light as opposed to strictly business.

Regardless of any factors, I would venture to guess the interviewer has some input, but your application pretty much states who you are. There are too many variables with the person giving the interview to say they would be such a determining factor. Remember that your app gets reviewed three times with yay, nay, or waitlist so I'm sure there are more items that provide a heavier weight to the decision. Best of luck!

I'll have to look at the card again but I felt like it was pretty personalized. I'm pretty sure he mentioned something from the interview too. I wouldn't stress too much as long as you gave good answers to the interviewer's questions.

Just a question for anyone: Has anyone had any contact with any adcom members regarding how many completed apps came through for R1? I'm not stressing cause it is what it is and know we're only a few weeks away from decisions, but was just kind of curious to see how many apps are coming through compared to previous years.

Just as "thewaterlooser" stated previously, most likely a reflection of the interviewer and not you. Hopefully you're not letting this small aspect beat you down.

Based on my Super Saturday interview slot, I'm guessing around 85 applicants (12 people in 7 slots). Dunno if that's more or less than previous years.

Thanks for the insight. Based on the numbers from the FEMBA website, I'd say that could possibly be low (or maybe R1 is typically light) since the site states 640-830 apps over the last 5 years. Who knows though since a post from last year stated an applicant spoke with an AdCom member at a diversity event and had the opinion 100 applications were submitted with 40 finalized before the Thanksgiving break. Regardless, good luck and thanks again!

Based on previous class notifications, it may be likely to be notified on Thurs/Fri of this week if you are admitted. Waitlist/Dings would then be updated on the 19th. Not sure if they will be following the same pattern this year, but I do remember Dylan said they like to somewhat surprise the admits with notifications prior to the decision date. Hope this helps.

We may be notified starting tomorrow, but I spoke with a good friend of mine who is a current student at Anderson, and he said that he received his notification on the deadline date. Hoping we all hear tomorrow so we can move toward the next step, but at least we can rest a little easier knowing we could still hear the good news up until the deadline. I know I'm getting anxious, so his news was a bit comforting in case I didn't hear anything over the next few days. Fingers crossed for the group!
