****UPDATE****

Finally got a firm answer from the admissions office! :-D

Funny, though, neither the date, nor the day were correct - we'll hear tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 15th) about all fellowship decisions.

Only one more day of nervous chain-email checking!

So, I got an email saying (paraphrased) "Congrats! You are a finnnalist for a merit scholarship. We will let you know in the next month if you actually get something - and how much it is if you did!"

Kind of anticlimactic. =)

Congrats on being a finalist!

I didn't get an e-mail so I assume that's bad news :( ....although I thought they said everyone would get an e-mail regardless of whether they received a scholarship or not. Did anyone else get an e-mail, or just westsider?

Apparently adcom conveniently changed the date to notify admits of scholarships to Monday, February 18th. At least they got the date right this go around...

Maybe no congrats are in order... since I haven't heard anything more in the past 3 weeks. I guess I can take some consolation in knowing I made it to the finals - even if I ended up a loser :-D

Have any of the "partial scholarship" people heard back from UNC since mid feb?

Actually Mike, after several weeks of much anxiety and way too little sleep, it looks like I'm heading for Ithaca, NY and Cornell. I liked UNC so much when I visited, it has been a really tough choice.

I will definitely miss being in Chapel Hill, it would have been so much easier if Cornell would have rejected me, or better yet, if someone had offered me a scholarship!
