I was just curious what the R1 deposit for admisttance was? I am applying to UNC for Fall 2009 and heard it was a little higher than usual and was curious how much higher. Need to decide if I want to do R1 or R2.

It was $2,500 and was due Jan 4th which is before the R1 decisions for the most of other b-schools. So you really need to be sure that UNC is your number one choise to go down that road. I would recommend applying in R2. That way, you are still eligible for a fellowship and don't have to risk "eating" your deposit up if you decide to go to another school.

Thanks, I'm actually heading up there tomorrow afternoon to visit campus. I can't wait :-D , Duke and UNC in one day, but I won't mention either school in front of the other. :-D

Good idea ;) There is a true rivalry between the two schools.

Nervous,

Goodluck on the fellowships. I'll probably attend Experience Weekend as well. So hope to see you there. Where are you coming from by the way? Oh another thing, in the admitted website there's a link for the discussion group. How do you sign up for that? Will they send an invite or should I send a request to someone?

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

I actually have signed up for that, when I was still leaning toward coming to Chapel Hill. On the home page of the discussion board there is a place (I think on the right of the screen) where it says "Join this group". You have to fill out a brief form and it'll be sent to the group leader. I signed up and they told me my email had to be verified by the group leader before I could post. I still haven't got a response, but there's an email address there to follow up with if you have any problems. I assume he didn't confirm me in to the group since I still hadn't committed.

Mike, I believe you will receive an invite to join the group but here is the official yahoo group you could send a request to: unc_business_2010_admit
I am coming from New York. How about you?

Just got notified. (I applied Dec 7th round, was admitted and got a "you might get a scholarship" mail in Feb.)
"I am sorry that you will not receive a fellowship from UNC Kenan-Flagler."
