Emont,

I'd really appreciate if you could help me find out that POC. Hopefully your friend is willing to share his vet experience at CBS with another Marine.

Does anybody have contact info for the Vets Club at Sloan? The links on their website are broken. I signed up to attend the Ambassadors Program on March 6th and would like to meet up with the Vets Club for lunch. Thanks!

Still waiting... yup

I hear last Round many of the military folks heard on the last day. Don't know if that means anything, but worth throwing out there. Maybe there is still some hope.

Dinged at Wharton today. Hail Mary pass to Stanford is still in flight, but becomes an increasingly wounded duck with each passing day. No biggie though, I know I'm going somewhere this fall and that's reassuring.

Me too (except for the last part), quite the humbling ride. Threw a curveball at me with the "status updated" email instead of "decision has been reached" phrasing from CBS.

Same hurt feelings here. At this point, I envy any applicant that has at least one acceptance and knows that he or she will be heading somewhere this upcoming fall. I go on terminal leave starting early April, and it seems like I may have to seriously consider working towards my plans B and C.

Congrats to all who have heard good news so far - hopefully I'll be joining your ranks soon.

I get the feeling that veteran applicants at top programs increased significantly this year. Looking at stats (and yes, stats aren't everything), it seems like people are getting rejected in larger quantities than in previous years on this board. I also have several friends at top programs who had comparable experiences to my own and in some cases, lower measurables (GMAT, GPA), yet were accepted and are currently attending top schools that a lot of us are getting dinged at.

Wow it feels good to be done! I've finally finished my application process. So far I've been accepted to most of my schools, and I'm finally in between Johnson and Fuqua. I'm leaning towards Fuqua, any thoughts from the vets out there on this comparative decision? I've received two huge scholarship offers from both and with the 70% percent I have kicking in from the GI Bill, school will be free at either place. I'm looking at IB for post school work. Seems exciting and let's face it, how is a 100-hour stressful work week different from one week down range? In my opinion this line of work would be cake for most of us, especially if you had a leadership/commanding role while trolling around in the "sh*t."

Anyway, I'd like to thank all of the veteran brothers on here who took time to answer messages and answer my questions. As we always do, I'm sure we'll shine and outdo ourselves in school and in the civilian sector. I look forward to running into you guys all the vet career fairs. Good luck to those of you waiting, and let me know if you need any help at all.

anyone have any insight into how a scholarship comes into play alongside the post 9/11 GI Bill?

for instance, if a school gives you a "full ride", and this full ride + GI Bill exceed the tuition and fees of the program, does the excess get dropped off in your bank account?

also, without a scholarship, how much debt can a vet expect to find himself in upon graduation from an MBA program, say any in the top 20?

edit: this is all assuming 100% eligible + Yellow ribbon.

I would ask the school about the full ride + GI Bill scenario. This question might baffle the VA. The schools themselves appear to have a better understanding of the law and more incentive to answer your question correctly. Congrats on your scholarship.

The Army approved my ACS packet to go to Yale this fall. Any other military going to New Haven? I know they were really pushing to add more military to the class.

Any military heading to Ross this fall?

I'm a Navy SWO, civilian select, out of San Diego, originally from Metro Detroit.
