“ All applicants will be required to complete the Video Assessment shortly after submitting an application. Applicants have 7 days to complete the assessment upon receiving access to the video submission platform.

There will be 5 question prompts and applicants will have 1-3 minutes to answer each prompt.”


Does anyone have any idea as to what these 5 video prompt questions are?

Not a lot, if you’ve an exceptional profile then maybe +50% or else the 10-20k is standard

USCIS release update

https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/h-1b-faq

What that means for COS (Change of Status) vs. Consular:

Both COS (F-1 → H-1B inside U.S.) and consular H-1Bs use the same petition form (I-129).

Since USCIS processes both as “new petitions” when it’s your first time getting H-1B, the fee attaches at filing.

The FAQ doesn’t say “at entry” anymore → it clarifies employer pays at filing, not the worker at the airport.

I think as long as they have your official scores by deadline you can apply
But I think you can apply regardless giving record of your scores via the application and then all they need is the official score throughout their review process
You have some leeway but it’s a tight timeline
