To know whether the glitch is still present or not, the question is does anyone still have 4 boxes today?

No, you're right. I didn't mean to come off sounding arrogant or something. I just really am nervous about Wharton so I had to vent...

Good things come to those who wait, right? :)

No worries, LB20; you are fine.

I hope good things await us all, and we all make it to W.

I have 4 boxes...i take this as a sign I have already been accepted....

Where exactly are you folks going to see these boxes? I log into my "applyyourself" page (via mywharton) and see ONLY ONE box "Submission Status: Submitted"
The next line is "Submission Date" (no box in front of it)
Next line is "Invited to Interview" (no box)
Next line is "Recommendation Provided:" (no box)

Am I not looking at the right place?

This is not the apply yourself page, but at Wharton's website itself. You can register and create a MyWhartonMBA page.

Do you go here: https://upenngsb.askadmissions.net/Vip/Vip.aspx and log in using your applyyourself login/pwd, then go to "Check status"? If yes, that's exactly what I did. If no, please correct me?

On that page, you would see a 'Checklist' section on the right side. That's where the 3/4 boxes everyone sees, and are referring to.

The problem was that I had not filled out the form that shows up when you log into your myWharton for the first time. Now that I have, it shows three checkboxes only. So, what's this 4box-3box theory people have been talking about, if you don't mind explaining? I brushed through it at BW forums but that's so full of misinformed people that I didn't pay much heed to it. Yet.

In short, the higher number of boxes the better your odds of getting in.... to say this in a very crude way.

In r1, a lot of peeps who were admitted had 5 boxes show up a day or so before the decision deadline. Hence, right now the speculation is if the bug was fixed, or is it actually a feature of Wharton's app system!

Ah, I read through the archives and found a few 3-boxers who go in as well. While having 5 boxes does make sense for admitted students, I doubt it's been a 100% certain pattern so far. It still seems to be going either way as per the messages, regardless of boxes.

When do you think these boxes changed in R1? A few days prior to the decisions or from the very beginning or after the interview?

Earlier people reported that they went from 4 box to 3 box. Does anyone still have 4 boxes? You should be going to https://upenngsb.askadmissions.net/Vip/Vip.aspx to verify

Now that I've wasted a good part of my morning obsessing over the loony box theory, here are some takeaways for those who'd rather be .. well, having a life:

- box-theory: the "Checklist" under your myWharton page shows up with 5 boxes, instead of the "usual" 3, or even 4.
- usually the changes happen 2-3 days prior to deadline dates. An IT glitch that affected R1; may not be applicable at all for R2.
- Many people who got IN had 3 boxes all throughout their application process. However, I am yet to read of any 5 boxer who did NOT get in. Many 3-boxer got WListed as well.
- The final two telling boxes are "transcripts" and "deposit" (or something like that). Sometimes the last one goes away and you are just a 4 boxer.

I wouldn't personally worry about it too much, especially if you have the "view your decision" as the fourth box (and not the "transcript" box). I bet that's got somethign to do with when you activated your myWharton profile as well. I did so only yesterday.

Not to stir any commotion, but I have only 2 boxes:

My application was surely submitted, because I wouldn't have gotten an interview otherwise, so I am not worried. I have been missing that box since before the interview. I think the number of boxes doesn't matter at this point. Only the presence of a box that has Transcripts or Deposit in it should be noted hereafter. If anyone else has these two boxes only - you can feel as special as me 8-)

For everyone else -Just keep an eye out for box changes the few days before W day.

My Wharton checkboxes changed from 4 to 3 over this weekend, with the "view your decision" box gone. Anyone else experienced the same?
