Hi all!

Better late than never, please add me to the class of 2012 R2 applicants. Interviewed mid February, now anxiously waiting for the 26th...

Concerning the boxes on MyWharton: Always had three of them, surprisingly the third "Recommendations received" in my case never was ticked, but as I got an invite to an interview I did not bother, seems they are received quiet fine.

Earlier people reported that they went from 4 box to 3 box. Does anyone still have 4 boxes? You should be going to https://upenngsb.askadmissions.net/Vip/Vip.aspx to verify
Mine says:

Now that I've wasted a good part of my morning obsessing over the loony box theory, here are some takeaways for those who'd rather be .. well, having a life:

- box-theory: the "Checklist" under your myWharton page shows up with 5 boxes, instead of the "usual" 3, or even 4.
- usually the changes happen 2-3 days prior to deadline dates. An IT glitch that affected R1; may not be applicable at all for R2.
- Many people who got IN had 3 boxes all throughout their application process. However, I am yet to read of any 5 boxer who did NOT get in. Many 3-boxer got WListed as well.
- The final two telling boxes are "transcripts" and "deposit" (or something like that). Sometimes the last one goes away and you are just a 4 boxer.

I wouldn't personally worry about it too much, especially if you have the "view your decision" as the fourth box (and not the "transcript" box). I bet that's got somethign to do with when you activated your myWharton profile as well. I did so only yesterday.

As a R1 waitlister this sounds about right - I had 3 boxes. I would imagine they would make sure to fix this glitch before R2 decisions are released so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I am personally going to avoid the temptation to check since it causes way more stress/anxiety than its worth.

Hmm...looking at posts from R1 it seems like most admitted students actually did see their final decision online...but it can be different this time...

Earlier this week I spoke with someone in Wharton admissions who said that they'd "call or email Thursday or Friday of next week." This sounds like decisions will be released over a 2 day period.

If you look at the experience of my year and the people admitted to class of 2011, the adcom can actually start calling one or two days BEFORE the official decision release date. I got a call one day before the published date.

It was strictly Ok. Now hoping that my definition of 'OK' aligns with their definition of 'Yes, we want him!'

The interview was tough, the guy threw quiet a few bouncers. I took a couple of them on the head, and pulled a few for boundaries around the midwicket region. No glorious hooks though!

He threw in a few slower ones as well tempting me for the drive. But I read them well and hit them late, straight down the ground!

Last week, some people from a Big4 in Shanghai, China said a girl in this agency got the EARLY ADMISSION from Wharton.

I spoke with someone in admissions earlier this week and he said my interview "went great." I suspect that GAs are coached to limit their engagement with prospective students. Realistically, they would have a lot of "new best friends" if they started a dialog after the interview.
