thanks again everyone!

River: Haha, I'll still come and visit Chi-Town and see all my brothers and sisters there! :) Who knows, maybe Kellogg will offer a full-ride and a rental apartment? :P

mba2010: Haha, yes yes, Haas is probably 90-10 against UCLA right now, but I like to make very informed decisions, and will attend UCLA's admit weekend (as well as Kellogg's if they let me in) to be 100% sure. I never want to have that "what if" moment. :) I mean, you did go from Haas being #1 to going to Kellogg for sure, right? :P

bherronp: Don't give up! It's not over until the fat lady sings!

terry12: Yes! Let's show those Chicago people that it's all about quality over quantity, hahahah :P

Anyway, I am very very honored and touched by all your congrats notes! You guys are awesome!

Kind of joining the party late....congrats kry! Just by reading your posts in this thread months back, I kind of felt like you already were at Haas !! I am glad your hardwork has paid off. Congrats again ! Good luck on Kellogg....I guess you have already made up your mind.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG........ :hair

Just got the call from Pete Johnson, I'm IN!!! (with 1/2 tuition scholarship for both years)

I had to run outside of the office to speak more "freely" (and get better reception), but it was a good conversation and perfect since I'm heading up to Berkeley for recruiting on Wednesday, so I'll swing by and say hi.

Anyway, the convo lasted about 8 minutes, with some details about things coming up like alumni events, admit events, etc... I was just stuttering like an idiot saying "thank you, uh huh, thank you, thank you..." :P

Wow... this is probably the happiest admit for me (especially coming after the Stanford ding), and I was truly nervous when Pete started to call people this afternoon. I'm glad it's finally over...

Thank you all at GMATClub for your constant support (and PMs/emails) throughout this process. There is no way I could have done all this without your camaraderie, advice, reviews, critiques, and shared pain (and happiness). I owe it to y'all!

Good luck to all the others here, I WANT to see you at Days at Haas in April, a'ight?! :)

(I think I can finally begin to write my "journey" post, now that R1 decisions are over)

thanks again everyone... I'm rooting for the rest of you!

BTW, who submitted for R3???

Oh yeah, here's a gem (not as good as nervousgmat's eval though)

Accepted.com

Minimal at Stanford, slightly less minimal at CBS, unlikely but possible at Haas, possible/maybe at NYU and UCLA.

Tempted to ask for a Kellogg eval... :P

He basically was. They figured if he was going to be there so much they might as well admit him and get some money out of him!

Haas:
- Strong in Tech and Entrepreneurship on the West Coast and Asia
- Smaller class size, tight knit group
- Very very collaborative culture
- Very strong in social responsibility, net impact, social venture, etc...
- Improving every year for the past few years, due to a very good "acting" dean (who may become full dean this year)
- Great weather
- Cheaper (though cost will climb about 7% a year for the next 3-4 years)

MIT:
- Strong in Tech and Entrepreneurship on the East Coast and Europe
- Stronger general brand name (UE vs E)
- Very established in the B-school world and the school is very established in the tech world

I might have to defer more MIT strengths to River and NC...

May I give my contribution here? Well I will give it anyway

- Smaller class size, tight knit group
- Very very collaborative culture

Are also strong points of MIT, during my interview I asked what my interviewer most like about Sloan, and she said: "the people, there we believe that things can be done; however, they can't be done alone". She also mentioned something about knowing to lead and be led...

They are also starting their new building, but I believe it will be finished only in 2010, so only from the class of 2011 will benefit from it.

Congrats to all of those who were admitted. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) I've been placed on the WL.

1) Do you know how hard it is to get off the WL at Haas?
2) What's the best approach to submitted extra materials?

Haas is my top choice and maybe those who were admitted can shed light on the strengths of their application.
