I asked Pearson to send my score to INSEAD when I took the GMAT, so I didn't have to worry about this detail. (that's why I don't know the exact answer to your question)

Hhaha. :) Congrats on your great score though. that is amazing!

So based on your question, I am assuming that you did not request Pearson to send over the scores at the beginning of your exam (when you could choose to have them send to 5 - 6 schools).

I want to say that you could apply without having Pearson sending over the official score report, but I really don't want to mess things up for you. I would encourage you to start your application right away, but definitely contact admission staff to clear up this detail as soon as possible (so that if you DO need the official report prior to submission, you can get that done).

thanks Enkie , i will do that right away... and yes i have started my application, just working on finishing last couple of essays and recommendations.
still would like somebody else to comment on this...
In the check list they provide at the end of the application form,
they have asked to check that the original GMAT report is sent to them prior to application submission
where as on website it is clearly written
"A copy of your unofficial score report is sufficient for us to begin evaluating your file."

If you don't have an answer from the admission's staff before you post your application, I'd try adding a comment to your application stating that as indicated on the website, you're sending the unofficial score report and that you're about to ask for the official score report to be sent. In the end, it's a human being who'll check if your application is complete, and I'd expect that person to be comprehensive if you provide as well the unofficial score report to prove your GMAT score.

Of course, this approach only stands if you are genuinely going to get the official score sent within the next few days. If you're just trying to spare the few dollars/euros/ruppies until you're sure to get the interviews, ... well I won't comment.

PS : isn't it GMAC who organizes the GMAT and who can resend the scores?

Ah, coinpan, you may be right. Just did a quick google search and looks like Pearson is one of the testing service providers.

I am wondering how you guys approached/or are approaching this essay question where they ask what your next step is if you were to stay?

Are we supposed to show that we cannot move forward any more to our desired position due to lack of formal business education?
Or are we supposed to show that we are coming to a stall professionally?

Could you guys shed some light on this?? I have a position I want to get and although it's not impossible to get it without an MBA, it will be a bit hard to get it without an MBA...

I think the essence of that question is to get an idea of your 'opportunity cost' - what will you be sacrificng in order to pursue a MBA degree. Since the question asks, 'next steps if you were to stay where you currently are' and not next steps overall, I do not think that you necessarily need to tie this with your goals essay.

If it ties well then fine but there are a lot of people trying to change the sector of work or career field and in my opinion they can't realistically write those goals as next steps while remaining in the same position that they are currently in.

That's only my opinion though.

Do we have to send any of the supporting documents (transcripts, photos) physically to INSEAD as part of the application? Or do we have to upload it online after submitting the application form? I have gone through the whole topic but haven't been able to figure it out.

I am a Round 2 applicant and this is my first post :)

You don't need to send anything by mail. After you submit the form, you will have the option to upload supporting docs and the picture.

Good luck in R2.

Thanks brazas..

Just to confirm, the supporting documents that need to be uploaded are:

1. Official Transcripts
2. Offical GMAT Score copy
3. Latest photo

Am I missing something?

I did ask Insead about whether we could apply with only the copy with the official GMAT score and send them the official scores only when (and if) we get an admit. They said they were fine with just the Official Score copy.

Did anyone hear otherwise on this from them?

Can somebody answer my essay question I posted?

And also, can somebody let us know if there is a limit as to file sizes of the picture/Transcripts/GMAT score report????

Yes, there is a size limit (I think it's around 2 Mb) and indeed I found it hard to scan the documents so that they were readable and small at the same time.

Hi friends

please help , what should i write under section " list your most significant examples of international exposure that you have experienced living, studying, working, or travelling outside your own country".

The problem is , i have never travelled outside India, but i have experience of working for 10 months with management consultants in India only ; can i write that as experience of working in US style in India.
will it be against the rules.

Hmmm, that is a little difficult. Did your consulting project deal with those who were based outside of India? Have you traveled a lot throughout India? Maybe you can talk about how diverse Indian culture is (isn't there like a lot of different religions, ethnic groups, dialects and such in India?) and what you learned from having grown up in such a diverse environment.

:( , they have specifically asked in profile 5 , Activity , from date to to date and country region...my present profile of consulting for my own company does involve a lot of travel in India only.....but I feel , i will have to leave that field atleast blank...
any idea , how difficuilt it would be for Insead to give me a interview call, if i have a great application and GMAT score otherwise...

Hmm, I can't speak on behalf of the admission staff of course, but it does seem like they lean towards those with international exp (such as travel, work in other countries etc).

I think leaving it blank is always kind of risky. Why don't you list the other regions of India that you traveled to for now? India is divided into various province/states right? I would think listing at least those provinces/states would be helpful.

Hmm, what is the true reason really?

My approach is mainly because i want to start my own business and need to fill in some gaps. I think for people who are staying in the same field -- some need to move into management positions and a MBA will give them leverage and knowledge to lead teams -- some need to move into multidisciplinary positions taht may require additional business knowledge, etc. I don't think there is a canned answer. It really needs to be the truth as to why you need one.

That is a risky stretch in my opinion. I'd leave it blank rather than citing different regions within India. (...)

On the contrary, I'd go for citing different regions of India: the country is huge and from one region to another, you'll have different languages, different customs, different foods, etc.
Not that I know much of India, but I'd expect there to be more difference between Indian regions than for instance between the US and Canada, or between France and Belgium. (and I know for a fact that there are major cultural differences between these countries)

I agree with coinpan too. Because they wouldn't know from other parts of your application how you've been to different parts of India. And since international exposure is your weak area (from what you've stated, I assume this is the hole you have to plug), then you need to show how you fare in a diverse environment. I think it does no harm to add it, and if they decide that it is NOT culturally diverse enough exp, they at least would have had a chance to evaluate that. Whereas, if you dont put that at all, they would have no choice but to just categorize you as no international exp by default.

Hi, My advice, leave it blank! period.

Don't make fool of yourself by putting experiences in India in 'International Section'.
Instead try and bring our your 'international motivation' in your essays. There are many opportunities in their.

Sorry for being blunt. But don't get swayed. you don't have Int Exp. so you don't. focus else where.

INSEAD asks you to show 'International motivation' - why you want to go international? (even without Int Exp)
see this admissions directors video, and refer to video portion starting at 2:00 minutes. see if you get some cues.

+1 to what Target760 said regarding the International Experience section. The question clearly says 'outside of your home country' so really do not think that we can list experiences within our country. I would agree with Enkie that India is indeed a huge country with diverse cultures but the scope of this question is quite clear.

@batman28 - I did leave my opinion on your essay question soon after you had posted it.
