WL’ed as well. So the general trend here is that almost everyone from "overrepresented" (read Indian) category in R2 was either waitlisted or denied. What a waste of time applying, when the school has already fulfilled its "quota".

Having lived in Texas already and knowing about the school, UT McCombs has a reputation of being popular for being more inclined towards domestic students than international. The class profile also works around 30-35% (international) -65-70% (domestic). So, honestly, not really surprised with the trend!

class size of 270 * 30-35% international * 10~18% from one overrepresented ethnicity = 10~15 maximum . Things get really competitive

hey, you definitely have a good shot if you can make a significant update to your profile such as higher GMAT, promotion, online classes if you have low GPA, and so on. If you cannot make a noticeable update, you are unlikely to get in as other applicants with updates will sheer you away. If McCombs is your only hope, then I would suggest to apply for R1 for 2023 instead while continue working.
