I approached that essay from a perspective of values. It's probably easier to demonstrate essay writing strategies in the essay forum, however this essay also took me the longest. Generally, I'm a quick writer/thinker (not necessarily a correct thinker 
) and this one took me 5 days. I still had lots to write, so i only wrote up to the point from childhood to the start of mt professional experience to try to demonstrate how an important value shaped me into what i am. Emphasising the lessons learned from each anecdote, and how that value brought about that situation.
The value, was the instigator which created the experience, but the results of the experiences were vastly different dependent on the outcome, and the learning based on the outcome and result was the main focus for me.
