Won't they call you if it is eaten? :roll:

Kellogg never called me when my email was eaten (in november 2007). They even emailed my INTERVIEWER asking why she hadn't turned in the report yet, and she said I never contacted her. And STILL they did not send me another email or call me.

I have even less faith in Stanford's admissions office being *more* gung-ho than Kellogg...

But if after submission we get in our mailbox the confirmation that the app has been successfully completed, does it mean that there are no spam filters regarding, for example, ***@stanford.edu ? :o

well, you never know when your spam filter decides to filter something that used to go through. that's the problem.

That's actually what happened in my case. I'd gotten the application confirmation in my main inbox, but for some reason the interview invite (also from gsb.stanford.edu) went into my junk mail.

But what if they receive "Mail Daemon Delivery Report", i.e. when the email has not gone through? :? :roll: :? Will they call me back and invite for an interview or will I be busted? My problem becomes even more complicated since the mailbox I use does not have a "junk mail" folder... but those spamed receive that message ("Mail Daemon Delivery Report")...

Nick, I think there's a post about this somewhere on the B-Week (I know, the dark side) Stanford Round 1 thread. Someone's interview invite got blocked by a spam filter; when he hadn't responded after a few days, Adcom called him to follow up. Sounds pretty similar to what HBS reports about their process in Dee's Blog.

ahh, well, good to hear that they do call the applicant if they don't respond. Bad that none of us got the call... oh well, I'm already mentally prepared for the ding (WL at Stanford is the same as ding, as I found out from last year's stats on the BW Forum)

yes. last year there were people on BW forums who were WL, and then interviewed later. Only *2* people reported getting in out of the 70+ people on the WL...

I think R1 decisions are out...my best friend just called to report he was IN at stanford.

According to Sandy @ BW, they start calling accepted applications prior to the notification date, but not all admitted students will have been called already.

Hi,
I'm surprised that decisions are out. I read in the BW forum that they start calling people 36 hours before notification day and that they normally start with international applicants. Where is your friend based?

wow, there's a HUGE amount of international admits on BW in the past day. some US have gotten in too.

Crazy how some people got into both H/S.
