Not sure if everyone noticed this, but this MSx thread for batch of 2020 is the most active, most close-knit thread of past five years!

MSx 2020: 243 posts and counting!
MSx 2019: 86 posts
MSx 2018: 150 posts
MSx 2017: 71 posts

Perhaps even more telling is a comparison with MIT Sloan Fellows thread: MIT community has been significantly chattier in previous years, but this year MSx and SFMBA are neck and neck with 244 posts in SFMBA forum!

In case you were curious, MIT SFMBA class of 2019 holds the record for chattiest class ever with 621 posts.

Thank you for indulging my useless number crunching :-)

Got an email today saying that R3 candidates will find out final decision on April 18. Admit weekend is April 13. So R3 admits are not invited? Is this consistent with last year?

Appreciate your perspective.

It must be if they sent out interview invites from almost the same day (April 6) as long as the intro weekend remains the same

Ok. Timing seemed a bit tight but I guess they know how to make it work.

This happens when passionate applicants come together with a common goal of cracking the application process. Differences of demographics, industries don't matter in such groups. Applicants really care about one another, share every tiny bit of information/updates/tips they have with fellow applicants, which ultimately leads to a flourishing discussion. Thanks to all current MSx candidates for keeping this thread very active.

OK now for the logistics guys.

Rather strangely, months before I had even considered Stanford I had a holiday booked in SF from April 18-25. Now, looks like it might make sense to cancel/reschedule these flights so I can make the admit weekend which is a week before.

Who else is going to that?

Also - given the course starts on July 8, when are people thinking of moving to Palo Alto? What about accommodation arrangements? When will we have the details of that?

I will join the FB group shortly - perhaps these points have been covered there.

I asked, my guirl will be 2 by november so there are not much options as far as I understood.

They told me to visit this site and they also said that information related to that will be shared during the admit weekend:

https://cardinalatwork.stanford.edu/ben ... s/worklife

Hope it helps!

A friend of mine just completed the DCI fellowship at GSB. She relocated with her family from London. She mentioned that the school situation in PA was a bit tough for her because of the competition. I will ask her for more information. I also suggest reaching out to current Sloan fellows for direction. Some of them have kids. Don’t wait for admit weekend. I live in the Bay Area and school situation here is not easy.

I will be attending the admit weekend as well. Hope you can change your flights and join in too! Some of us are planning an unofficial pre-event so keep an eye on the FB group for invite.

Vast majority of students usually live in Escondido Village apartments. The earliest you can move to Stanford is 5 days before the official start date. If you want to move earlier, you would need special permissions from housing department.
