Hello all,
I have just been offered an associate position in a European VC firm, I also scored a 720 GMAT and graduated from one of the top 2 Canadian Universities and made the Dean's list.
I am curious if the VC industry is seen in a positive light by M7 admission teams... It seems that "leadership" roles and # of people under your management in your current job is actively looked at. As a VC you operate in small structures (less than 20/30 people) and you rarely have people under management as a junior VC. Is this a significant disadvantage? What are the odds of making the cut for M7s and top European MBAs (INSEAD, HEC etc) with this profile?
Curious to have your insights

Hey pololo45,
Working in venture capital is generally something folks try and achieve AFTER the MBA, so congrats on securing the role before. If you were to transition to an MBA afterwards, your experience would be seen in a positive light, depending how prestigious/successful your VC firm has been. If they've participated in a number of well-known transactions or been able to cash out via IPO, this would be to your advantage.
For M7, I'd maybe try and get your GMAT up a bit higher...I like your profile better at 740. Without understanding the rest of who you are, it's difficult to assess the exact chances, but VC and 720 is certainly a good start!
