In case that you really want to apply to B-schools, it's clear that you need to invest your time in preparing your application. Hence, you should improve your GMAT score to get higher chance of getting accepted.

Too busy for your own running business? Don't worry, there is always solution for any problems. You could run a company with about, I guess, 100 people, then why can't you run your own time? :-D I strongly believe that you could do better than you expected!

I recommend you retake GMAT and get higher score. A score of 650+ GMAT could make getting accepted in top 50 B-schools easy.

Retake the GMAT and forget about your 570, it's not a score worth applying with.

I am disappointed in my score, to say the least. I studied for 2 months and have been out of school for 8 years (3.6 GPA). I scored a 570 on the GMAT Q38 and V29. I was hoping to go to a top 50 school. I have exceptional work experience (I started and ran my own successful company for 8 years) Is there any hope? I have talked to many schools that say not to stress about my GMAT score, but I am very concerned. My goal was to go to Texas A&M. I have no idea if I will get in. I was rejected from another school and told that the only reason for my rejection was my GMAT score. I do not have enough time to retake it for this school year. I would have loved to have more than 2 months to study, but the timing of my business buyout did not allow for that. Should I apply now?Are there reputable schools that favor the GMAT less? Should I wait a year to retake it? Do I have any hopes of getting a better score? HELP!!

Don't worry about timing. But just keep on studying until you are seeing mock test scores that are above 660/670. and then retake. It doesn't matter if it takes you one month or one year, but you gotta have that score!

Best,
JF

I can only agree with what has already been stated: your current score is not going to get you into the schools you want to go to so you absolutely need to retake, even if it means applying at a later stage. Unfortunately, I see no way around it in this case.

Good luck!

If you really don't want to retake the GMAT, I suggest looking at EMBA programs. Some great EMBA programs either do not require the GMAT or have waivers that you can apply for.

Given you have 8 years of experience, you would be eligible. We recently got a few folks into top EMBA programs with 6-9 years of experience. That said, the schools should be chosen wisely. Reach out if you want to discuss. Scott@personalmbacoach.com
