The point of the Columbia essay question is for each applicant to express authentic, personal reasons for wanting to study in New York. One of Columbia's competitive advantages is their New York location; therefore, applicants who can express an authentic interest in pursuing an MBA in Manhattan are going to be ahead of the competition. My general points on the value of study in New York would be the same as anyone's: a world financial capital, rich arts and culture, international diversity, high energy lifestyle. I'd urge any applicant who is approaching this essay to express reasons that are more personal and to say something about themselves and their motivations versus reporting on the general value of earning an MBA in New York city. You'll want the essay to provide insight about you NOT about Manhattan.
Thanks Tyler for your valuable insights...Much appreciate it!
It'd be really helpful if you could share more specific details on 'NYC and RE industry' - how they're parallel ? What are the special features of NYC in the context of RE that we can't get elsewhere to that extent ?
Looking forward to hear from you...
