Hi sjas31,

Thank you so much for your response.

I would prefer Germany because of the work-life balance, however, London is charming to think about.

Gosh! This is hard. :/
That is why I am looking for some factual information to guide me through the process of final decision.

Best,
Sheen22

Hi,
It's true that UK govt. will provide the extended visa for student who graduated from UK universities. I am not sure whether this include all the universities or only top ones. It is still an advantage and you do not need to learn a language in UK but German is MUST to get a job in Germany. The choice depends upon you. Where do you want to settle? If you want to stay in Germany and can learn German, then go for it.

Hello mates,

I need some feedback on CASS and HHL Leipzig MBA programs. The schools are in different countries, have different strengths and vary a lot expense-wise as well.
In the short term and long term, which school could prove to be a better choice?

Although UK VISA rules have changed recently, I've heard it is still difficult for internationals to get a work permit there.
I will appreciate any insights on both the schools.

Thank you so much in advance.

Just curious. Did you get an admit from either school?

Hi,
London is charming but consider the cost of living which is pretty high there. Also, it's crowded and busy city. You can list down positives and negatives for both and compare which one suits you. I do not know much about the schools you got in. I would say the opportunities in both countries are good and good places to live in.

Hi sjas31,

Cost of living is definitely a concern. That's why I am seeking help here. I am not sure if the opportunity cost (since Cass is 1 year program and HHL is 21 months)and the type of post MBA career opportunities will overcome the difference in the long run.

Thanks for the inputs!

I am not sure about the German school. Cass on the other hand has the advantage of being located right in the center of London in close proximity to all the top Financial and Consulting firms. It has got a good reputation among Financial/Financial services industries, if that is your area of interest. The career services may not be able to help you if your aim is to work in Germany, but you can use the alumni network to land a job. As far as working in the UK is concerned, if you have prior experience of working here, it may work to your advantage. Otherwise you may have to network extensively during your MBA. The two year post work Visa is actually an advantage as it gives you enough time to settle into a job and companies usually end up sponsoring you to continue in the same role rather than recruit a fresh candidate.

Thank you so much for your response nvdmurty.

I don't have the experience of working in the UK but I have worked with a UK Financial Servives firm who were my client back in my first job. I don't think it will work in my favour though.

With UK going into re-election phase, we can't say of anything with certainty about the two year extension and the work prospects I believe.

However, your insights have been helpful. Thank you so much for the responses. :)

It is unlikely that the student visas will be affected. We will know however in few months.
