Hi Ashok,
Certain professional certifications do add value. The certifications should be linked to either of the following:-
- Your post-MBA target
- An area that you want to learn and helps you achieve your long term goals
A professional certification such as PMP /CFA / FRM etc. may make you more employable post-MBA. Although the incremental value compared to an MBA may not be significant, it will definitely help you get past the criteria set in by recruiters
Choose wisely. A mere certificate won't add any value unless linked your broad goals.

Hello everyone,
I am an MBA aspirant and is currently preparing for GMAT, which I will be attending next month. I just wanted to clarify whether a certification course before doing an MBA will be of any help to build the profile as well as to impress the adcom during the interview, especially when you have an average undergrad score.
If so would you please suggest any good courses which is related to marketing to be pursued.
Regards,
Ashok
