Hi,
In some of the B School Application forms,it has been asked to state the "certifications" done such as CFA,Level 3,Level 6.
I want to know what is fair game to include in this form ?
Can I include all the technical certifications that I have completed while at work or the certifications has to be related to the business world such as a CFA ?

Hey Harsh - good question.
It's really up to you - the act of getting certified in something indicates that you're motivated to advance your skills in your career. So there's some value to that.
However, if you cite a bunch of alphabet-soup acronyms for technical certifications that the adcom-person won't be familiar with then it mostly just solidifies your profile as a tech guy - which, generally, you should be seeking ways to rise above.*
If it was our app we'd probably leave those off, but it's not wrong to include them.

Then I guess,I would only write about my CC and CL certifications in toastmasters(Public Speaking and Leadership) and the French DELF B2 certificate.(Foreign Language - Internationalism)
I completed like 4,5 other certifications but those were related to my oil and gas sector.
After all,being an engineer my prime task is to show the adcoms that I am more than a techie.
What say ?

Well..... not sure about the Toastmasters stuff. Again, you can include it, and we don't know how rigorous of a 'certification' process that is, but on the surface we're guessing maybe not so much. Typically what adds value in an app are the hardcore certifications like the CFA or Chartered Accountant.
Conversely, those energy industry certifications (again provided they're significant in terms of what you had to do to get them) could be worthwhile to include if you're going to be focusing on energy in your future goals.
We can't be definitive on such questions without knowing the details of the profile - there's lots of different ways that these might be important to include, or important to exclude.
But we're not feeling it on the Toastmasters. Perhaps it doesn't hurt to cite it, but we'd be more inclined to put that on the resume and skip it for the application.
The goal for these text fields is not to fill them to overflowing. Use discretion in terms of which pieces truly add value and distinction. A 'certification' should show that you accomplished something. Maybe those Toastmasters ones do, we honestly don't know, but an uneducated assumption is that they're not quite weighty enough to merit a place in this section of the app.
