Hi there! Great site and very informative!
I was hoping you could evaluate my chances for getting into Haas' EWMBA program in Fall of 2006. My profile is as follows:
Age: Almost 30
GMAT: 700 (V 93% M 82%) 5.0 AWA
Undergrad GPA: Overall 3.2 in Accounting/Finance at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo
Certifications: California CPA license
Work history: almost 6 years, started with Big 4 Accounting firm and promoted twice in 2 1/2 years, held high performance ratings while at the firm. Went to work for a small entreprenuerial company serving real estate developer clients for about one year, and am now working for a Fortune 200 residential developer. Came on as Asst. Controller and promoted to Land Acquisition project manager. Held leadership roles on committees within the company and had 3 people directly report to me as Assistant Controller (15 people indirectly reported to me during financial statement preparation).
Held President/Vice President roles in several student clubs during undergrad and participate in various charities, and hold a leadership role in a couple.
I feel that my short/long term goal essay was very detailed in what I wanted to accomplish and how the MBA would help me do it. Other essays I felt strong on with the exception of "tell us about yourself," which I got the feeling I talked about my background and how I think (do they care?)
I'll be happy to at least get an interview to add another dimension to my application . . .
Thanks so much for your help!
