Everybody who applies before the January deadline is automatically considered for fellowships and merit based scholarships. You don't have to do anything else.

Need-based requires the FASFA, at least for US citizens. I'm not sure how it works for international students. I would contact the adcom just to be safe though.

RD applicants: I'm not sure how long this has been up on my app status, but it says: "2013 Full Time Regular Decision Applications will go under review beginning November 15, 2012. " Not December as indicated in the FAQ! I guess that means we should be starting to hear about interviews quite soon!! ED applicants: Does your status change when they're actually reviewing your app? I gathered from earlier posts that it says "Under review" when they're evaluating you?
