Just got the call - so excited!!!

Here are the details:

Application submitted: 10/1 (ED) (all recommendations were in before that)
Invited to interview: 10/21
Interviewed: 10/23 (Report submitted that night)
Admitted: 10/25

The quick turnaround was surprising but such a relief! I'm sending all kinds of positive energy to those of you who have to play more of a waiting game!

Background:
female, 25 at matriculation
700 GMAT (44 V, 42 Q, 6.0 AWA, 6 IR)
Just under a 3.5 at a top 20 Liberal Arts college
3 years WE in investment consulting (back office operations, 3 promotions, 20 direct reports)
Plans after MBA: management consulting and/or general management
Living in Arlington, VA but originally from NY (getting married next summer to someone who lives in NY)
Good extracurriculars & community service
Great recommendations
Interview went really well

Some interview advice:
Know yourself & know Columbia, & practice. Then throw it all out the window and be yourself. I had a number of things I had rehearsed talking about (or not talking about) and when I got to the interview I just decided to be really honest and conversational and I think it made a stronger impression than telling the interviewer exactly what I thought he wanted to hear.

Good luck everyone still waiting! Hope to see many of you next fall!

Just got my ding:

Applied 9/4
Submitted new GMAT score 10/15
Ding on 10/25

I'm not surprised, I knew my GMAT score was a long shot but I thought I could make up for it with an exceptional resume/references/extracurriculars.

Best of luck to the rest of you!

pxlz - Sorry to hear that...!!

Why did they suggest so? Could you please share a bit on your profile - How many years of WE do you've? What's your GMAT? Demography? Career goals et al.

It'll be helpful for the forum I think.

Great traits Sir...You'll surely rock in your EMBA application hopefully.

P.S : I know an applicant having more or less same characteristics like you but more experienced than you. He has applied to top US FT MBA programs...Let's see how it goes for him!

Congratulations to all those who got admitted!
One quick question- does CBS continue reviewing those who got interviewed by the time of the submission of the feedback?

I second this question. Is the AdCom done reviewing until your interview feedback comes in, and then that becomes the only final piece for consideration? (in other words, if you're recommended by the interviewer, you're more or less in, and if you're not recommended, you're basically out)... or is it possible that you're extended an invite, the interviewer recommends you, then the application moves on to the final phase and the final reviewer denies you?

I'd imagine it's the latter. A few people on the messageboard indicated that they'd had good interviews and were subsequently denied. In the last day, 2 people on this board who interviewed this week have been accepted (congrats!) but I interviewed last week and (I think like many of you) haven't heard back. So I think there's more going on there. Perhaps trying to gather more information if they like you and then see how you'd fit into the broader class. More factors at play than just the alumni feedback.

People indicating that they had good interviews may not always translate to the actual feedback being positive.... Regardless, I think the actual feedback of the interviewer has a high correlation with the eventual fate of the application. I remember someone on this board a couple of years ago saying that his interviewer told him that he was the first interviewee that the school rejected, despite positive feedback from the interviewer, in 20+ applicants.

Since this is a relative and not absolute game..it could also be that they are sitting on some applications until after they see all the applications in ED. A good candidate for WL perhaps. Although AdCom in the info session said they will try and minimize WLs this year. I may be wrong though.

I noticed on their website that they will start reviewing non ED applications Nov 18....Anyone know if there would be any benefit to submitting the app before this date (other than they might revierw it earlier after the 18th passes)?

Heard they review on a first come first serve basis. With those submitting first to be first reviewed.
