CBS EMBA applicants, please feel free to mention me should you have questions. One of my former clients recently graduated from the program, and he actually was promoted twice while he was in it! He's now a director and has emphasized that he is very willing to chat with (well, he's a Brit so chat "to") anyone who wants to know more about it.

Hi p0laris91,

While Columbia's NY EMBA class has an average of 9 years of work experience, having less will not impede you from admission. That said, you should bear in mind that Columbia's EMBA admission team is looking for high achievers. Does your 6-years work experience reflect that? How is your overall profile?

I welcome the opportunity to speak offline. If interested, please reach out.

Good luck!

Susan

No, that's actually not a deal breaker. One of my clients recently graduated from that program, and he was the youngest person in the cohort but I think he was 26 when he started. He did have a lead position and a People management position at work even at that age.

As far as I know, CBS and in general most of EMBA programs put more weight towards your resume, what you've achieved and what you can offer to the program. Then they want to see what you are looking for out of the program. If you have a somehow unique profile, had considerable achievements within 6 years and a good story to tell in terms of your goals and what to offer, I believe you still have a good chance.

Congratulations. make sure to only submit it when do you feel it's really at its best. It's a little bit hard for me to imagine that happening in 2 weeks. Are you going to coach your recommenders?

I applied and was accepted to the Sat program.

I felt a bit shy about posting, however, I realized other folks had provided helpful info in previous years so here goes:

Applied: Dec 3rd
Invited to interview: Dec 17th
Interviewed: Jan 7th
Accepted via phone: Jan 17th

GMAT: 710
Undergrad: Ivy, 3.3
WE: 100 months

Interview was very much in line with previous years, e.g., focused on my resume and why CBS.

I submitted my application on the 01/08 ED deadline. Has anyone who applied around that time heard back yet?

Looks like all the interviews are now online due to the spread of corona virus. Anyone had a virtual interview already? Any tips :)

How are you guys feeling about the future of the first semester? Will it be virtual as well? What about orientation and residence period?

I've also been accepted into the Sat NY EMBA program.

Orientation and Residence weekend will be merged into one weekend (May 15-17). First Day of Class is May 30.

There is an official Facebook Group titled "Columbia Business School EMBA Class of 2022" which is administered by the Assistant Director of Admissions.
